A small evap leak is often interpreted as a loose gas cap , which it can be , it means the evap systems integrity has been breached , it can be an electrical solenoid , switch or just a vacuum line in the system . a bidirectional scanner can run the evap test after checking the gas cap , most well equipped shops can hook up a smoke machine to the evap system service port and run the smoke test , it there is a leak you will see the smoke , makes the diagnosis quickly . get an estimate from a reputable shop , by the way this problem has no effect on drivability , but should be fixed . cheers

EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM IS A EXHAUST RECYCLER.THE SENSOR IS SHOWING THAT ITS NOT HOLDING VACCUUM.A BAD OR LOOSE GAS CAP CAN CAUSE THAT ALSO.FIRST TIGHTEN THE GAS CAP,(CLICK IT SHUT),IF YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON THERES A LEAK IN THE SYSTEM.TAKE IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED.

Chrysler p0456 code

Possible causes - Missing or loose fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister or fuel tank leaks
- Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system hose leaking
- Fuel tank leaking
P0456 Chrysler Description The Evaporative emissions system is design to prevent the escape of fuel vapors from the fuel system. Leaks in the system, ca allow vapors to escape into the atmosphere. The leak detection system tests for EVAP system leaks and blockage. During the self-diagnostics, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) first checks the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for electrical and mechanical faults. If the first checks pass, the PCM then uses the LDP to seal the vent valve and pump air into the system to pressurize it. If a leak is present, the PCM will continue pumping the LDP to replace the air that leaks out. The PCM determines the size of the leak based on how fast/long it must pump the LDP as it tries to maintain pressure in the system.

P4056

As far as I know there is no code number p4056 in the Toyota code book. It might be:
Error Code: P0456 Fault:
Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System - Small Leak Detected
Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.
Fuel Cap not fully attached.
Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System leaking/faulty.
Evaporative emission (EVAP) pressure sensor.
Possible Solutions:
Check Fuel Cap.
Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System.

Engine light stays on code # P0456

P0456 is Evaporative Emissions System - Small leak detected.

More often than not it is a gas cap that is either not put on corrert or it has failed to hold the seal.
Less likely causes are:
  • A small leak in any of the EVAP hoses or fuel tank hoses
  • A small leak in the purge valve or vent valve
  • The EVAP Canister may be leaking

Engine fault codes: P1684 P0135 P0456

Hi the p1684 means the battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts, the P0135 is Oxygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank1, Sensor1), you may have notived an increase in fuel consumption. and the P0456 code means evaporated emissions system -small leak detected the causes could be either A small leak in any of the EVAP hoses or fuel tank hoses, a small leak in the purge valve or vent valve or the EVAP Canister may be leaking
Hope this helps

I checked the codes and one comes up its po446. i dont under stand what it mean so i cant fix it to get the light to go out.

P0446 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit.
The following are descriptions of all Evaporative possible codes:

P0441 Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow
P0442 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (small leak)
P0443 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit
P0444 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open
P0445 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted
P0446 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit
P0447 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit Open
P0448 Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit Shorted
P0449 Evaporative Emission System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit
P0450 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch
P0451 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Range/Performance
P0452 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Low
P0453 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch High
P0454 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Intermittent
P0455 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)
P0456 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (very small leak)
P0457 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (fuel cap loose/off)
P0458 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Low
P0459 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit High
---
At least the cap isn't loose for the gas tank.

I would clear the code with an OBD-II Scanner 'erase code' button, and see how long it takes for it to come back.
