Question about 2008 Chevrolet Uplander

1 Answer

I have a 2007 Chevy Uplander. When taking off from a dead stop the traction control kicks in and the front of the van vibrates badly like the frontend will fall off. If I let off the gas the vibration stops sometime doing it again when I excellerate and will finally stop. I have had it to the dealer 5-6 times. Guess what, I can't get the van to vibrate when the service man is in the car. Help!

All a dealer has to do--- is pick the parameters or data
they want to look at & compare & turn on the record
& play back feature, then drive the vehicle as you do

When it acts up --they return to the shop & play back the
info from the scan tool software

Now you component test

You need an ASE Master-- Level 1 tech-- to do the diagnostics

SOURCE: my 1998 chevy truck 1500 vibrates so bad when i stop or when idle

You left out a lot of needed information but I will try to help out.
You can pull the spark plug wires off one by one while the engine is running to see if you have one or more cylinders are not firing. Depending on how long it has been I would do a tune-up first, replace spark plugs and wires, filters, fluids etc.
With that done and if all cylinders are firing pull the transmission dip stick and look at the fluid, I am assuming you have an automatic tranny. The fluid should be a light red, if it is brownish and has a burnt smell then you could have a problem with the clutches inside your transmission which can cause this same problem.
Good Luck.

SOURCE: when turning right car vibrates

If the traction light is on, it sure seems like a wheel bearing. Jack it up and double check.
If you're sure the bearings are OK and the wheel bolts are tight, it almost hase to be the axle shaft/CV joint.

SOURCE: slight vibration in the front end . replaced

Who did the work?
Was all rust removed where required?
Was anything at all lubed?
Was the system properly flushed

I have never in 47 years of doing my own work,
ever had any brake issues.

I would say 95% of your type issues, are because the
brake work or service was not done correctly

That said, I am a perfectionist,former machinist,fabricator,
welder,and speciality automotive business owner,so
Iam always thinking, and time has never been an issue

Chevy uplander traction control seems to be working all the time

Can you feel the vibration through the steering wheel if so have your front discs machined & the front pads replaced. Or are you feeling the vibration through the pedal? if so it may be the rear but start with the front.

Try adding gas to the tank, it might have a bad sending unit that reads 1/4 when the tank is empty.

We were having this problem...have your wheel bearing checked out. There was a sensor in the drivers side wheel bearing...once we replaced it (because it was going out) the ABS and Traction Control warning lights stopped coming on.

Good or bad?

It's a terrible minivan. Read the reviews, they have all been bad. The only thing going for it was it's low price tage. Aside from that every other mini-van was superior in each and every way.
