A fuse was pulled out of my 1996 ford explorer because there was a short in it and now my spedometer and my radio wont work how do i fix this

How do I get the radio to turn off????


my guess is someone has installed an aftermarket radio?
your yellow and red wires are backwards on the back of the stereo. you've got constant 12v power going to the ignition/memory wire on the stereo.

Where do I find audio system fuse in 1996 ford explorer


on your 1996 in the fuse panel on the driver's end of the dash -
visible with the driver's door open - in location # 20 is a 7.5 amp
fuse for the radio and in location # 29 there is a 10 amp fuse for the
audio system

did you check for a blown fuse in fuse box? if good check fuse in the back of radio itself and replace.

When I changed the battery in my 96 ford explorer the radio won't work


did you check your fuses. There may be something else other than your radio that does not work that you haven't notice yet. The fuses are a good place to start

Describe your 1996 Ford Explorer Problem..trouble


Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0443 indicates a failure in the EVAP canister purge valve circuit.
Possible causes:
  • VPWR circuit open.
  • EVAP canister purge valve circuit open.
  • EVAP canister purge valve circuit shorted to PWR GND.
  • EVAP canister purge valve circuit shorted to VPWR.
  • Damaged EVAP canister purge valve.
  • Damaged PCM.

Electrical Fuse Goes out


is the radio stock or aftermarket if after market i would pull out and inspect wires for short or disconnect radio to see if the short is related to the radio system or a/c make sure wires are not exposed and touching eachother

Odometer,spedometer,radio


My nephew has a 96 taurus also when his radio went out he noticed that his speedometer was not working as well so we check the fuses under the dashboard and found that a fuse from the radio memory was blown . We replaced it and the radio and speedometer and the odometer worked fine
