Why wont my 1995 dodge caravan start , i turn ignition on all normal lights come on the dash as usual and i here fuel pump engage but when i turn the key it wont turn over at all and battery is good a

Check starter motor, give it a smack with a hammer, might turn over after that, this is a sign the stater motor brushes are most likely worn out. Or and check ignition switch below the ignition barrel.

Citroen troubleshooting

well since the starter was only 2 months old i am betting its an ignition short. When u turn the key, the solenoid on the starter engages the bendix gear with the engines flywheel and then energizes the starter motor. And when u release the ignition the solenoid and the starter motor should de-energize. hope this helps you.

My 1999 saturn SL2 i in stalled a new rebult stater motor about maybe one year ago , now the last 3 months about it's been a hit and miss on starting most of the time it starts then every so often

it might not be the starter it could just be a relay i would check the relay and if it is just clicking when you try to start it then that is probubly it if not maybe you have a bad batery

My starter turns low. i checked every thing the batter is good, the charging is good, what is wrong? if i change the stater is it hard to put on?

sounds like we need a starter motor current draw test to evaluate ur starters condition.this can b done at any shop w a charging an starting system analyzer.if ur stater is drawing more than250 amps to325a or even higher amperage draw ur starter motor is bad..on a northstar the starter is under ur intake manifold, not an easy job,if u have the other caddy motor then starter can b changed from under car. not too bad to change,on a lift of course

My 2001 ford focus wont turn over but has lots of power?

If the car is a manual transmission remove the keys put it in second gear and have the car pushed forward, it is hard to push the car in gear but you will feel it ease off after about 1 meter it is the engine that turns over by doing this it free's up the starter motor which I think is the issue. after you have done that try and start it, still no joy then hit the staer motor with a hammer a few times again this might free it up, you wont always get a click when they fail as the cold often siezes then solid so no noise at all. If it has been stood in the cold then I would be tempted to think that it is the starter motor. if you can see it then also check the wires to the stater they do often fray or corrode.

Hope that helps, if you need more help get back to me.

Stater replacement for 2001 4.0 Aurora? How many hours and is the starter under the Intake Manifold like the lexus? No click and poer drained when I turn the key. Wonder if the motor seized. Noted power...

If motor was seized, there would be a big power drained when trying to start it, check make sure battery is fully charge, and have good battery terminals connection's, starter labor flag time is 2.4 hrs.

How do i change a starter in a 99 camry v6? is the starter on top of the engine? easy to access?

I have a 1999 4 cyl Camry and the starter is on the top side of the driver side of the engine. The car was clicking when turning the key , no starter motor kicks in. The solenoid copper contacts just wear down over time and no longer made a good connection to turn the starter motor.

I was able to replace the copper contacts and plunger on the solenoid for $26 in parts. Parts received in 3 days from Nations Electric online. I have done this repair twice now, once on a 1999 Camry and again on a 1998 Chrysler T&C.

Why replace a good stater motor when all you need is new solenoid contacts? Just make sure you don't remove the cover of the starter motor itself! You will have a time getting it back on. See the video below.

Here is a video showing how to do the job:
