My bmw 320d e90 wipers ,rev counter and cruise control not working and battery runs flat

Every morning when I try to start the engin the battery is flat. As soon as I get a jump start or have another fully charged battery to start the vehicle the wipers ,rev counter and feul consumption gauge works. After driving a few blocks the consumption gauge starts to jump around and then it totaly stops to work, then the rev counter and eventually the wipers.

lift the carpet at o/s/f {drivers front footwell} there is two multiblock connecters guarenteed tobe sodden with water disconnect connectors& dry with a hair dryer on low setting hopefully the pins are not corroded reconnect connectors this is aknown fault i have worked with peugeot&citroen for 24 years kind regards alastair

The battery could still be bad and if you don't have a totally good battery in the car it won't run right. Take to one of the parts stores and they can check it for you for free. Probably as simple as a battery.

Go to your Fuse and Relay Box called the Power Distribution Center located in your engine comparment and Remove and Replace your Accessories Relay. Your Instrument Cluster is run off this. You should have a Spare Relay of the same type (size and shape). If not use a non-engine operation Relay (that is known to be working!) of the same type (size and shape), and check the operations of both the Instrument Cluster and the relay you switched-it-out-for. If the Instrument Cluster works and the other quit working, then it is the Relay that is bad and nneds to be replaced.
If this does not work, or if you have intermittent failures, there may be a loose connection and/or a bad power or ground supply. Most of the time - it is the Relay that needs to be replaced.

Does not rev after jump start even i put down the foet


Have the vehicle scanned and see what fault codes and other irregularities with the engine operation appear. Then a competent mechanic can start to diagnose the problem. If you don't do that then anyone will just be guessing at the cause of the problems you have now.


If the battery was completely drained before you jump started the vehicle, that can affect the computer and that can cause issues.

When i start in the morning my 320d bmw litlbit smoke and engine shaking.after 5-10 minit when wom up then ok evre thing,please can let me know what is the problem???thank you.


perhaps some water condensation in the empty tank that then caused the smoke and shaking during warming up.

Refill with good branded Diesel a full tank and have a drive for 30 mins possibly warming at high revs (or low gear to warm faster)

seems like theres a build up of carbon in the intake. you can try the pour in gas tank cleaners for fuel injection cars which you have and after 2 or 3 of those with 2 or 3 full tanks it will clean the injectors and the carbon out of the intake. And if you really want to get them cleaned up even better and stop all the rough idling, take the intake off yourself and clean all the black stuff off anywhere you see it. Thats the carbon build up. Especially on the butterfly valve area. It will not only run better for you but get better gas mileage as well.

look at the battery connection in the boot it tends to get seperated after a accident , you need to the replace the battery plus connection , yo get this from the main dealer for around 100 euro ??

Hi there, I think you might have a main fuse that is blown or a main relay not working. Check also all earthing points as well as the ecu earthing points could have been damaged or having poor contacts.
