Question about 1987 Nissan Pathfinder
I have a 1987 nissan pathfinder automatic. The car ran great until a friend of mine didn't close the back hatch all the way thus killing my battery. I went to start the car and no surprise I could't, I tryed to jump start the car and that did not work. Now I have a perfectly charged battery but no power to the rest of the car oh except for the wipers. any Ideas?
Jump start it with + cable on battery - cable hooked to "lift hook" on pass-side of motor. also make sure its in PARK (or Neutral) make sure the "fuse links" (the pink wires from + battery terminal to wiring harness) arent broken or mangled.. if that still doesnt do it, on Pass-Side fender in a little back box (2in wide, 6in long, 6in deep) is a relay (beleve one closest to firewall) called "MAIN RELAY" Common failure on older pathfinders, it just gets old and worn out, replace it, through dealership its EXPENSIVE, through Junk-Yard it may be defective.. I've replaced mine with a cheaper style relay (had to cut/solder wires) ... Discussion Boards on www.4x4parts.com have LOTS of great info on this kind of repair.
