Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

My 2007 Honda civic just had its battery replaced...So I've been trying to get my radio (and clock) to work again. The previous owner recorded a 5 digit code in the owner's manual. I've tried using this code to get radio working again but there are some 8's in the code and my buttons don't go higher than 6. So how would I enter a number higher than 6 when there isn't a button higher than 6? If the previous owner entered the wrong info then do I call original place of purchase or call where I purchased car?

SOURCE: Radio/Clock not working after battery

some of these cars when replacing the battery you need to replace with the ground leed first or you may blow a fuse if you connect the possitive side first it sends power through the system with no where to go.. check your fuses and make sure they are all good use your car manual to find them as all cars are somewhat different. if you dont have the manual you may have to call the dealer to get one or just ask the mechanic where the fuse box to the radio and clock are located.... i hope this helps

Honda civic gli radio replacement won't work

Dannielle, if the previous owner installed the radio, it must have worked. It is possible that error code may have no connection with the replaced radio which may work when connected to battery. It depends on the complexity of the new radio. If it is simple, s/b ok.

Don't know if yours is one but some 95 Honda civic have a antitheft program. If the battery ever goes dead or voltage is removed from it, it will not work until a program code is given to bring the radio back to life. you might want to try searching 95 Honda civic radio code.

Unhooked the battery on 2004 Honda civic vx , now radio dosent work. Need the radio code to reset.

Hi, check the service log book, the previous owner may have written the code there. The only other way to get the code is to take your car to the local Honda dealer. Hope this helps.

Battery ran down.now radio/clock don't work. flashes Error.can this be reset?

try taking the radio out and looking on the top for the parts number. call Honda and tell them what is going on and they will give you a 4 digit code that will reset the radio. i had the same problem with my 05 civic, did that and it worked for me.
good luck

2007 Honda Accord--battery died now radio and clock don't work

Hi. Jumping the battery when the radio is turned on will often cause a problem. I would check the fuses for the radio first as one of them may have blown. Regarding the clock it is blinking and needs to be reset.

Since this is a relatively new car I recommend going to a book store and purchasing the service manual for Honda which includes the 2007 models. This will you how to reset the clock. Then keep the manual in the glove compartment for all future reference.

Good luck.

I recently had to disconnect the battery of my 2001 honda civic ex to install replacement parts. Once the car was finished and the battery reinstalled the radio will not play because of the security code....

two ways of going about this if the code was correct the radio would work so its not the right code you can get in touch with the previous owner see if hes got it or if you bought it off a garage see if they can sort it out or phone your local honda dealer find out if they still have a record of the code they keep records of most details on there cars but may charge you or if all that fails get your local paper find an auto electrian that has the coding device its not all that expencive cheaper than buying a new radio yates210456
