Ok... using a digital ohmeter (if you don't have a scan tool) check the throttle position sensor, mass air flow sensor and the manifold pressure sensor (MAP). Instructions for testing are too long for me to write them out, but can be found in any decent repair manual. As a last resort, you can swap parts from another known good vehicle (maybe from a friend) this won't damage anything unless you break something during r&r. I'm leaning towards the tps, but on this electronic junk, everything feeds off of everything else and it's easy to get fooled... could even be the crank sensor. Sorry to be so vauge but without being there and driving/testing myself I can't honestly be positive enough for a definite answer. (you did change the fuel filter, right?)

Ckean throttle plate inside throttle body...They tend to get dirtier than their counterparts in carbureted engines due to lack of fuel spray that kept them clean. If no luck with that, clean idle air control valve on TB. When doing this, don't turn the plunger, just clean with carb spray and replace. do not loose "o" ring seal.
Good luck

Water level perhaps. When you hit the accelerator the water volume increases. Check your water level and make sure that your thermostat is opening and closing properly. Water level I'm thinking

1st Heater/ac stopped working replaced blower motor resistor still nothing..then today started blowing and won't shut off

liberty's are like that, complex fails.
lots and lots of liberty posts here. seems endless for such a new car.
first off, its all computer controlled over an network
so not scanning it first. is a failed moment.
the blower works on high all the time.
so if that is true, and it is. then the A./C must work
so only the A/.C is bad. see>
or one of 3 computers has dropped the ball. or is normal.
first off the A/C is cut for many logical reasons.
knowing that gives you lots of clues. as all reasons can fail.
posted 100 times here.
  1. engine overheated.
  2. engine overload, (PCM knows this and tells AC to cut)
  3. high/low switch open (too much or too little Freon)
  4. evap core froze (icing)
  5. blower dead.
  6. BCM or PCM errors, causing A/C to not work. scan it.
  7. net work errors. causing lots of odd issues, scan it.
  8. its cut cranking, (ac cuts engine cranked)
  9. its cut when engine is wide open throttle so you can pass a logging truck and live, LOL. (just to have a full list)
  10. ECU or Transmission in Limp-home mode. (scan it)
  11. (other PCM faults. like idle controls out of control (that is why scanning is MANDATORY)

MAYbe more, read the a/c pages in the FSM yet. if not, why not?

2002 jeep Cherokee 2.5crd engine cuts after removing foot from accelerator pedal . no warning lights come on. let the vehicle stand for 10 minutes then it starts up again. can it be injectors or ignition...

check all fuses.
cuts out hot or cold engine.????????
if it wont start and car gets 60k tuneup (?)
then connect scan tool and crank for 5 seconds.
see if you get scan DTC errors , cranking (release key) see em?
stalls are caused by over 50 reasons. guessing is impossible or very expensive.
enter: Diagnosis,
you take measurements, and find the failure path then work that path like bird dog.
2.5L 4cyl engine. I just sold min last week. with 5sp M/T
cuts out, does that mean the engine stalls?
we need to know what it really does.
1: stalls (engine rpm drops to 0 RPM)
2: engine rpm drops to 300rpm and shakes.
3: power loss from engine?
4: only stalls at stop signs...?
5: bogs all them time, same as #3
6: engine misfires (shake)
7: bogs only on throttle TIP-IN then recovers.
8: bogs only on hills.

i wait.
when dead, is spark lost?

Is it a bad battery or alternator

It's more likely to be the fuel pump or filter than the battery or alternator.

Cuts off, but will restart, then cuts off again

Likely, you have a damaged engine bearing. When there is a problem there it will turn oil pressure light on because bearings keep the pressure inside the crankshaft...It may stop as the bearing overheats and binds, then loosens up a bit allowing a re-start when it gets cooler. Battery sounding dead is likely because the engine is locking up and too difficult for starter to turn.
At this point, it is not a do-it -yourself project ...either you need a lower end rebuild or engine replacement.

Car starts, won't stay on after added oil.

If you happend to open the door or unlock from the inside. you might of activated the theft shut down alarm. Try unlocking and locking the driver door a couple times then taking your key phob, lock and relock the doors until it armed. unlock it then see what happens

Jeep liberty 2002 will not idle when you first start it if you make it run at about 2000 rpm for about 3 min it will stay running

Check temperature sensor. I don't remember if your vehicle has two (one for the gauge, one for the computer) or a single unit that feeds both. If seperate (your parts house should know this) change the one that feeds info to the computer.
Essentially this sensor does the job of the choke on the carburetor on non-fuel injected vehicles, by allowing additional fuel into engine on cold-starts. After engine comes up to operating temp, it reverts back to normal run mode... (why you need to warm it up at excessive rpm before driving!) Good luck!
