Question about 1998 GMC Jimmy

Cannot get heat out of floor vents -only defrost and dash heat

For a while when I turned the heat off but kept the temp turned to hot, the heat would come out on the floor. when the knob was turned to floor heat though, nothing would come out! a few months ago that changed and now the heat comes out of the defrost area when the knob is in the off position - my feet are freezing! any ideas?

I had a simmiler problem on my 95 chevy pick up. on mine it would not chg. from floor to defrost, no matter where i put the selector. with mine it was the controls. if you go under solutions for k1500chevy gmc trucks it should tell you what your problem is, or give you an idea whats going on with yours.

I have a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ and my question involves the heating/ AC unit. The air flow seems to be very strong through the Defroster but for the dash vents and the floor it seems to be much s

Defrost has been stronger on all types. Just the way plenums are made. Clear that wind shield first. As long as you have plenty of heat to keep the cabin area warm to hot, it's OK. I wouldn't woory about it.

1996 Montero Heater Blower not working

I assume your heater setting is electric control, if so either your defrost and floor heat switch failed or wire problem. For the air not hot, check the heat control valve on the top of the hose it should be in front of the firewall. I don't know your car is using mechanic valve or electric control valve. Anyway check there first. Good luck.

1988 1500 series half ton. Air vents to mid dash and defroster won't open up. Heat and air blows on the floor only.

It sounds like the door on the defroster isn't opening. Check for a vacuum leak and also check the temp.control valve this should have several vacuum hoses coming from it. This valve controls all the doors, Bi-level, Defroster, and Floor positions.

No dashboard heat output

The climate control was poorly designed on these cars.

There is only heat on the floor and defrost settings, due to the layout of the ductwork.
