SOURCE: I have an 2001 oldsmobile alero that won't turn

The first thing you should do, is check for battery power and ensure your instrument cluster lights come on when you turn your key to ON.

It's possible you have an issue with your starter motor, ignition switch or even the crank/cam sensor.

Have your diagnostic codes read by your local dealership or a mobile auto electrician, as this should immediately identify where the problem lies.

Over heating

Bubbles coming up in your coolant resevoir tank, and either consistent or random overheating, could indicate a head gasket leak. Check your oil dipstick, and inside valve cover where you add oil. If engine oil looks like chocolate mousse, it's a sure indicator of head gasket leakage.

My 2001 olds alero 2.4 liter is leaking oil from the top drivers side i think out of a sensor

most leaks coming from the top is usually the valve cover gasket is bad, but if you can wipe clean to make sure that is where the oil is coming from.

2001 Oldsmobile Alero 2.4l engine, 244400 miles - radiator is leaking at drain plug. This happened after I drained the rad. for replacement. of hoses. Can the plug be replaced without putting in a new...

you can try removing the plug and seeing if it is a gasket or an o-ring that seals it to the radiator. You should be able to find an o-ring or a gasket that will work at your local parts store. If replacing the o-ring or gasket does not work than the radiator will need to be replaced. We no longer drain radiators with the petcock for this reason.

Oil leak on 2.4 olds alero right side of engine where could it be leaking from

Two solutions.

Obvious is to tighten to valve cover.

The engine is actually designed to Not leak via the PVC Valve if working correctly there should in-fact be a negative pressure in the crank case.

Check and replace the PVC Valve.

Hope this tip helps
