If you ask for a one wire delco alternator,all you have to do is connect the large wire on back of the alternator to the positive battery post on the battery.The alternator is self energizing,there for no problem with wiring up a harness.If I can help,let me know my name is Ron.>>>firstname.lastname@example.org

The pivot bolt is the long bolt that holds the alternator to the frame.
If you loosen it, the alternator can "swing" with the pivot bolt as its .... well, pivot, or swing center.
The long bolt must be removed completely in order to remove the alternator.
Be sure to doisconnect the negative cable from your battery.
