I respectfully disagree.
WD-40 contains volatile ketones that will damage the rubber.
Pure silicone spray is the ticket here.
What you have going wrong is a bad "positive temperature coefficient thermister" in the window motor. It cannot be replaced, it is part of the motor assembly. You are going to probably need to replace the motor in the near future. The PTC understands a slight overheat condition, and when the motor "drags", or goes slow, the PTC opens up like a circuit breaker. Then, after it cools off, it closes, and the motor works again.
Lube the rubbers with silicone, and consider replacing the motor.

Yes the door's rubber window guide becomes dry and needs to be lubricated with a special silicone lubricant, go to Napa and ask for this silicone lube then apply it to the grooves located around the inner perimiter of the door window frame, sometimes it is neccessary to remove the door panel to access the lower window guides, if you remove the door panel becareful when removing clips along the lower part of panel you can damage the panel using a screw driver the sell a tool for this it looks like a screwdriver with a Y shape at the end. If this doesn't remidy the problem you more than likely have a worn out window motor that needs replacement.

You can also put a volt meter on your switch. Power the switch on and off to see if you get a difference in resistance. if you do it is probably the motor
