for some reason there is no power going to those sockets get a 12volt tester I had a car one time that this happened to and the dealer could not even find it and what I did was take a wire and carry the current from one that was working to the one that was not but only do this as a last resort check out the sockets and if all fails do what I stated above about the wire and that will work

Is there a trick to getting to the rear turn signal on a 2003 ford focus hatchback. I had removed the screw to the lens cover but I still cannot gain access to the turn signal bulb to replace it.

Replacing tail/brake/backup lights and turn signal bulbs (coupe)

1. Make sure the headlamp control

is in the OFF position and then

open the hatchback.

2. From inside the luggage

compartment remove the wing nut

of the rear light assembly cover.

3. Using a Phillips screw driver

remove the screw. The lamp is still

retained by a spring loaded clip.

Remove by gently pulling out the

light housing.

4. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise as far as possible and pull it

out.

5. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket.

Install in reverse order.

How do you change rear brake light bulb in a Ford Focus

You will need to look in trunk and pull back the covering over the light area on the side you need to replace. Once exposed, look for the wires going into the light housing and twist the plug to unlock it and remove the bulb. Twist and remove the old bulb or Pull the bulb out of the socket. Reverse the process to install the new bulb and replace the socket.

Some of these cars have a problem with the wiring harness. Part of the harness runs into the hatch/rear door, and the moving back and forth when opening and closing it causes the harness to get damaged. I have heard rumors of a recall, but I don't know if it is true or not.
