Question about 1999 Audi A6

Audi A6 anti theft, car won't start

I had my car checked out by a mechanic because it wouldn't start one day and then it just started randomly again after about 5 minutes. I took it in and they said it had to do with my Anti Theft system but that I would have to take it to an Audi Mechanic to have it done as they are not an Audi dealer. Well today I can't get my car to start. It's the same problem. All the lights come on everything is just like normal and because I just had a bunch of work done on my car before winter it has had a complete inpection. I know this is the problem however I am trying to find a way to just get it started so I can even get it to the mechanic. Is there a way to turn this device off or get my car to start for now to bypass the system?

The biggest problem with intermittent problems is getting them to occur. It seems that your trouble is sticking around, and maybe you need to just give in and have it flat-bedded to an Audi shop(hopefully the ride on the truck will be gentle enough that the trouble won't clear itself).

2003 Saturn Vue with a identity anti theft system. Replaced my battery a few months ago. Couple weeks ago noticed a little difficulty starting up. Last week wouldn't start just clicking noise. Jumped...

Anti-theft system has nothing to do with it . Battery cables , maybe , Park neutral safety switch possibly ! With anti-theft system problem you wouldn't a click or anything , that is if the anti-theft disables fuel or the starter . Plus the SECURITY light would be on if it were a anti-theft system problem . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that knows how to do starter circuit testing >
Starter Voltage Drop
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit

And what's this identity anti theft system ? No such thing ! The vehicle has a content theft an vehicle theft deterrent system !
This system disables fuel not cranking of the engine. The VCM/PCM will not disable the fuel due to any BCM message for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
If the VCM/PCM does not receive the same password from the BCM as the last learned one, the vehicle will start and then stalls due to the Fuel Lockout.

This is about to be rather lengthy, so I apologize in advance. I traded for a 98 Firebird on April 19th. Already broke down. The problem doesn't lie within the engine or transmission however. What...

Sounds like the electrical part of the ignition switch, not the lock cylinder that needs replacing.
Possible also that cutting that wire to the security module immobilized it.

Audi a6 bonnet won't open

the only way I know how to do this is with the front bumper removed & as follows:
Here's the deal:
If you can remove the AC condenser you will have more room to maneuver. You will remove the grill with the logo.

use a ceiling rod (rod for ceiling grid tiles) or a long straightened wire coat hanger with a small hook on one end and fish from the drivers side of the latch it can take up to & about 90 minutes, you will be able to catch the release and pop the hood (Bonnet). It's about the equivalent of picking a lock for the first time

wrap the cable with some electrical tape and shove it into its holder above the radiator and fan. then land the cable in its carrier release and bind it with a tiny zip-tie.

There is no easy way to do this and you will have to be patient and diligent, but as soon as you catch it the hood will pop up instantly.

Btw, prop open a door as you may set off the anti-theft alarm!!.

The A6 is one of the hardest cars to break into, and this is just to get the hood open! If you find yourself in a position like me, (tired of mechanics and poor work) take your time and it will be worth it.

It may also help to check out this link as most Audi's have the exact same locking mechanism for the hood:

Hope this all helps & please remember to rate my solution, Kind Regards, Paul

My car at random just wouldn't start. It was like

If you have a stick shift there is a switch usually on top of the clutch pedal that has to make contact in order to turn engine over. I would check that first.

Truck stalled wouldn't start.

I can understand you being frustrated.
There really is no way to tell if the fuel pump was the problem at this point.
If the security system fails, you should see "security" light up on the cluster.
The key lock has a sensor that reads the chip in the key. If the sensor fails or the chip fails the computer won't let the vehicle start.
Most of the time when the security system is at fault, the vehicle won't start, but it won't cause the engine to stall.
You might want to have someone check the fuel pressure and spark at the plugs if you don't see the security light on the cluster.
Could be the fuel pump relay and a list of other things.
I would probably check the computer for trouble codes too.
