If the radiator has no drain plug, you would disconnect the lower radiator hose.

I have a 2001 ford escort and when I turn off the car and get out, I can smell antifreeze. When I check underneath, a little antifreeze leaked out. Is it my heater core, thermostat, or something else? ...

could be the water pump but without a good look by a mechanic its difficult to say from afar so i would advise you ask a local mechanic to have a look for you

if there is no white label on top of the radiator guard,
If you buy your belt from Autozone the belt routing is on the package,If you already bought the belt you could always buy one from AutoZone and then return it after you use the routing.

Manual Transmission fluid for Ford Escort ZX2

I know this sounds crazy according to Ford:

You can use-
Motorcraft MERCON Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX MERCON® Alternative Transaxle Fluid - SAE 75W90 Gear Oil F32Z-19C547-MA API GL-4
You are seeing that right, one instance they call for 75W90 and the other it is ATF. It is ok to run either, 75W90 will give you smoother shifts and less noise.

This transmission is filled through the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) hole.
