Replace the plug wires and plugs and inspect the old parts for cracks and corrosion(wires) and carbon deposits(plugs). Inspecting the air filter (replace if necessary) and replacing the fuel filter may help also.
It is probabley worn rings so the best thing to do is at next oil change get a can of V-8 formula engine restore it takes the place of about half a quart of oil I think to be exact I think the restore for a V-8 is a 15 ounce can.Try that at oil changes.
