The engine cranks but won't start
Someone will need to determine if you are lacking fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Chevy
If you can hear the actuator clicking then the plastic ends that attach the rod lock/latch to it has most likely broke off. It's fairly common on the Tahoe and Blazer for this to happen. You can open the hatch and gate by removing the inside plate from latch handle and prying the latch open manually. I hope this helps.

If you try to start the vehicle and there is a click when you turn the key, but does not start, you may have a solenoid problem. This is usually about 3 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter and attaches to your starter. Try giving it a sharp tap with a hammer as this is often enough to loosen contact points inside.

Have you checked the "Bump Switch" this is a small inertia switch which turns offf the fuel pump to prevent it running in the event of an accident. They are usually mounted in the boot(trunk/load area) . There should also be one mounted under the front of the vehicle to initiate the Airbags. They usually cut the earh return(at least it does on my Granada, XR3i and Sierra XR4x4) hope this helps.
