SOURCE: I am getting a misfire

----------
Subject: Special Policy Adjustment - Catalytic Converter #05551 -(09/14/2005)

This may be due to the front endcone insulation from the catalytic converter breaking away and blocking the front of the first catalyst brick and preventing the free flow of exhaust gas through the converter.

Ford code p1316

ford code p1316 is IDM problem ( injector driver module)
the IDM operates as 2 banks of injector drivers ( right and left and can cause one bank to shut down as if driving a 4 cyl
there are forum statements which say that there is a problem with wiring and clips inside of the rocker covers or broken wires
check that the harness and wires to the unit are tight
suspect that the module may be in an area that is near the transmission and the wires may have been disturbed
I went google and typed in--- ford fault code p1316 and there are videos and forum sites that will help you
code p 0562 refers to system voltage --low===causes ---wiring---poor connection--battery---alternator
also refers to ECM power relay control--circuit open wiring ---ECM relay
check that all harness connections were put back properly after the transmission job
code p 0231 refers to fuel pump relay---circuit low ===causes --wiring short to ground --fuel pump relay---ECM

Head gasket or intake manifold gaste again 96 k1500 5.7 vortec. starts runs idles and drives rough it likes to **** while trying to drive almost as if it wants to stall out. i put my scanner on it and

The website has software that looks for obscene words.
I would think a compression test would show if the cylinder is having mechanical problems. And yes the intake or head gasket could be leaking again, especially if the intake or head were warped or cracked.
Have you checked fuel pressure ?
Does the spark plug for cylinder 5 show signs of coolant leaking into the cylinder ?

I have a 2000 Dodge durango and i keep getting the cylinder 5 misfire code. we have changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and injector. I dont know what else to do! it is only coming on number 5

Check the harness for the injector for loose connections. Also, if you purchase a noid light(Oreily's carries them) to plug into the #5 fuel injector harness and turn on the car to see if it's telling the injector to fire. If the pulsing of the light is intermittent and not steady then there may be an issue with the computer. If the light is not coming on at all then there may be a break in the wire or like i said a bad computer.

The check engine suddenly came on. Displaying p2146 code and p0202 code. Engine running rough and lacks power. It has done this approximately 6 times in the last 18 months. Recovers after a while. ...

The error code p2146 says fuel injector group A supply voltage circuit/open problem. The p2146 error code is related to the wiring in the valve cover that going to the injectors. It is part of the gasket and comes as an assembly. The wiring/gasket assembly for the valve cover is the most common cause for this problem but you disconnect the injectors and check ,if the code comes up again then injectors are also faulty. you will need to remove and install valve cover to test each injector. For this one at a time, disconnect both wires from each injector and insulate the terminal ends so the circuit will not short to ground connections. ---------------------- And for the error code P0202 the code says :-- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 2. Its #2 injector circuit malfuction.Looks like either bad injector cylinder #2 or maybe an injector wire disconnected or shorted out.
---------- Check and possibly clean the connector on the injector and the connector itself.
It might just be loose. And that is causing this errors.
------- Keep updated with any more query.Thanks.

What is a P2149 code

P2149 Fuel Injector Group “B” Supply Voltage Circuit/Open

HI. This code is indicating that one of the injectors are experiencing difficulties. It is damaged. the circuit is unable to be closed. This will allow for this particular injector to remain open, causing slight leak. This may produce smoke on start up, or rich mix in the effected cylinder.Have the injectors tested asap. replace the failed injector. Group b will usually e located on the front, or left side rail, depending on the orientation of the engine.
