The starter is under the passenger side of the engine. It is a cylindrical-shaped motor with a smaller cylinder on top. You have to jack up your car to get to it and once you have found the started tap it with a pair of pliers or a hammer while someone tryes to start it because it just may have hit a flat spot on the starter which will cause it not to turn over.

Wont start

Whack the starter with a hammer or heavy bar while some one tries to start it. If its the starter it will often start. If so buy a starter cause this wont work forever.

2003 MITSUBISHI GALANT 2.4, THE CAR WONT CRANK! TURN THE KEY TO CRANK AND NOTHING. EVERYTHING LIGHTS UP ON THE CLUSTER, YOU CAN HEAR THE FUEL BUT THERE IS NOTHING GOING ON AT THE STARTER. HAS A NEW BA

Starter relay is actually mounted on top of the starter. Have you checked to see if your "new" battery was fully charged? If it is, then i would try a new starter which comes with a new starter relay. If you don't think its any of the above, it must be your starter switch. NOTE: starter switch is not where you put the key in, its mounted somewhere on your column, maybe even close to the floor and is actuated with a rod. You can actually start your car without a key after you find where the switch is located. Just pull down on the rod. (little known fact you can start a car without a key this way, hope your not a car theif, you can steal anycar this way lol)

My truck has new batteries but sometimes wont start cked all connections ,good to go im thinking neutal censing switch on tranny pls hlp ty

It could be that,or,the starter, next time it does this, tap on the starter,do not hit real hard,as you try and start it,these starters are low gear reduction starters, with a permanent magnet in them, they use contacts instead of brushes, and they where out,and cause no start situations.

Where is the starter solonoid located 04 aveo

You will need to verify if the starter solenoid is getting power when you are attempting to crank it. I dont have a diagram, but the clutch switch may be the problem if you must depress the clutch to start the engine.

Having problems starting it, tryed starting engine and when i turn the key it just clicks and wont start?

YOU MAY NEED A STARTER RELAY ,BUT I THINK YOU NEED NEW SOLENOID CONTACTS PUT IN THE STARTER.THE CONTACTS FOR THE SOLENOID ARE REPLACEABLE AND THE REST OF THE STARTER IS GOOD FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES.

I have a problem with my ford escort 1995 it wont start i replase the batery for a new one and i replase tht startmotor but stil wont start can some one help me please

It can only be either the ignition swith or a broken wire between ig switch and starter solenoid, if you take off the plastic bezel around switch I think the starter sol wire is white with red trace,.with a lengh of wire from the pos on battery, touch to starter wire at switch, if it then turns engine over, the fault is switch. If not check other end of starter wire where it connects to starter solenoid on starter
