SOURCE: where is the bank 2 sensor 1 located.

Oxygen sensors are always numbered like this:

Bank 1 sensor 1
Bank 2 sensor 1
Bank 1 sensor 2
Bank 2 sensor 2

some manufacturers use a kind of shorthand that reads different, but means the same thing:
Sensor 1/1 or O2s 1/1
Sensor 2/1 or O2s 2/1
Sensor 1/2 or O2s 1/2
Sensor 2/2 or O2s 2/2

Bank 1 is always the side of the engine where cylinder number 1 is located and, of coarse, Bank 2 is the opposite side.
On a 4 cylinder engine, there is only 1 bank and it is always referred to as Bank 1.

Sensor 1 is always the upstream sensor (The one located BEFORE the catalytic converter)
Sensor 2 is always the downstream sensor (the one that is located AFTER the catalytic converter.

Most GM engines have #1 cylinder located on the left bank, (or Driver's Side) of the engine,

So, the answer to your question would be that you are looking for the sensor located before the catalytic converter on the right (or Passenger Side) of the truck.

How do i replace the 02 sensor on 1997 chevy blazer

the question is, which one are you replacing? There is at least three on that vehicle. one in each exhaust pipe from the engine Bank 1 Sensor 1(drivers side) Bank 2 sensor 1(passenger side) and then there is one post cat. Bank 1 Sensor 3. match up the sensor because they are different. some four wire(heated) or single wire. But all have a hex at the base 15/16 wrench should do it. Be careful not to mess up the treads. P'Blaster works good for stubborn ones. Don't forget to add anti-seize to the threads of the new sensor before installing.

WHICH O2 SENSOR HAS THE HEATER CIRCUIT IN IT BEFORE OR AFTER THE CATALYST

Hi.
The Oxigen sensor are in diferent kind.
1 -- With a single wire. " is only oxigen sensor"
2 -- With 2 wires " is only oxigen sensor"
3 -- With 3 wires " Is oxigen and heater sensor"
4 -- With 4 wires " is oxigen sensor and heater sensor.
5 -- with 6 wires " is oxigen, heater A/F sensor" normally Nissan)

OK........Your question.
Depend of the year of your car.
But all the car they are Bank 1 or single bank. Engine in line
4 cyl . or 6 cyl. And are identified sensor 1 bank 1 and sensor 2 bank 1. S11 or S21.
But all the Engines in V are bank 1 and bank 2.
Sensor 1 bank 1, sensor 2 bank 1, S11 or S21.
Sensor 1 bank 2, sensor 2 bank 2, S12 or S22.
Sensor one is alway before catalystic.
Sensor two is alway after catalystic.

If you have problen with the oxigen sensor you need to put a scanner to see the number of code, The number of code will give the especific sensor that you need to replace.
The code can be heater or oxigen. and can be refer to a the same sensor.

I hope this information work for youu.
Thank you for use fixya.
