It has a oil sending unit just above the starter they do leak down in the starter.

Use in temperatures above 0 degrees: Castrol GTX High Mileage 10W-30 / 5 quarts + Jug
Use in temperatures below 61 degrees: Pennzoil Premium Motor Oil 5W-30 / 5 quarts + Jug

Starter not engaging. Where is the starter soleniod lacated exactly ?

on the 4.0 engine starter is on the right ( passenger ) side by the oil filter

Try cheking the starter connections, the battery to motor ground, battery to body ground and motor to body ground strap for corrosion. They can be corroded under the bolts and cause all kinds of electrical problems.

4.0L - Location of Oil Pressure Switch - Rh side of Engine block above starter, 3 wire connector

4.7L - Location of Oil Pressure Switch - RH side of motor next to oil filter, 3 wire connector

did you remember to drain the oil pan of water and oil before you restarted it,and hopefully nothing fell on to a piston.

Jeep starting problem

When you replaced the starter did any shims fall out?
I beleive there should be a shim there.
The starter is too close to the flywheel and is binding.
