SOURCE: my 1999 alero is overheating and engine coolant is leaking

hi, i dont know about the dipstick, but your overheating problem is most likely to be the thermostat...sounds like its stuck in the closed position, not allowing colder water to circulate, hence the overheating.......needs changing

after you run the car for a while do you see that the oil on your dip stick looks milky? if so the leak is getting into the oil. If so this may be a blown head gasket.

SOURCE: my 2001 ford F150 is leaking water from above the trans

First off, is this water or antifreeze? If it's water it could be coming from the heat/air conditioning. If it's antifreeze, it's probably either a heater hose or the back of the intake manifold.

SOURCE: Leaking coolant and outlook is overheating

Does it look like it is coming from behind the pulleys? If so it probably is the water pump. It has a weep hole on it for when the bearings go out. Try tightning all hoseclamps on the hoses. If it overheats real quick then its prob water pump or thermostat

My jeep 1988 start leaking all fluid do I need to replced leak from bettwing engine and trans

Yes. This is a main seal from the crankshaft, engine oil, A freeze plug from the back of the coolant passages, or a Torque converter seal which leaks transmission fluid. None are simple or good. It will need to be fixed. Just make sure any other work is done that needs to be when they do this repair. If it is engine oil, it can wait until it gets to be a nuisance. Purchase a pan from Walmart and keep it under your vehicle. Carry a thick cardboard or metal pan when you go shopping if it is that bad. a few in puddle over night will not cause damage as long as you keep the oil up. Excessive leaking dripping from the exhaust and undercarriage may cause fire. Keep an eye on things if you cannot afford the engine oil repair now. Trans oil and coolant will need immediate attention.

98 continental replaced cooling system still over heating no heat till it makes a rattling noise from behind the dash then throws heat can't see where coolant is leaking

You do have a coolant leak, coolant is on the ground under the car then? The noise you describe is from a badly overheated engine. I think you have blown head gaskets

Our 2004 Isuzu Rodeo has developed a coolant leak. The leak appears to be around or above a little panel or plate immediately behind the oil pan? Cannot find any other source. What is inside the littl

You will have to clarify behind the oil pan. Front of engine towards fan. Rear of engine transmission side. Or above the pan towards engine side. If there is coolant leaking from behind the engine (between the engine and trans) and is not running down from above eg head gasket or hose connection, chances are good that there is a frost plug leaking on the rear of the block.

Coolant leak fwrd oil pan seal

Sounds like the water pump has failed. They do leak when bad, and they are located on the front of the engine. Be careful of overheating the engine till you get the leak stopped.

My s 430 has smoke coming from under hood after driving but not all the time temp gauage reads normal. I had oil and trans leaks sealed but it is still happening, what else could it be? Thanks

SMOKE UNDER HOOD COULD BE COOLANT LEAK FROM RADIATOR ITSELF OR CHECK FOR LEAKING TOP RADIATOR HOSE AND CHECK FOR LEAKING BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE.LOOK UNDER THE HOOD IF COOLANT BOILING OUT COOLANT OVERFLOW JUG ENGINE OVERHEATING FROM BAD THERMOSTAT OR BAD WATER PUMP.CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAK AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE.IF SO WATER PUMP NEED REPLACING.ADD MORE COOLANT UNTIL LEVEL CORRECT.TRY LOCATE LEAK. IF CAR OVERHEATED AND BOILED IT OUT. SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD CAN ALSO BE CAUSED BY LEAKING VALVE COVERS WHICH CAN BE FIRE HAZARD IF OIL LEAKS ON HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

Coolant Leak

It' s a guess. First I would for any engine frost plug leaking. If equipped with a block heater check it for leak (depending where it has been installed).
If I'm wrong let us know and we will go further.
Hope it will help

Coolant Leaking

Well from what I can tell is that your intake manifold is leaking at the back of the engine, what you can do clean the engine off with some degreaser, put some leak dye in and check it with a ultraviolet light, you could also pressure test the system with a proper tester from stant or snap on. It might be a cracked hose or cracked head, have you overheated the motor before?
