Question about 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara
I am looking for a diagram or pics of the entire wheel bearing assembly. I am changing the front wheel bearings and im not sure if they are a sealed unit or if I can repack the bearings. also was wondering what all has to be taken apart. I dont know if the 4x4 is different than the 2wd. this one is 4x4. also is this vehicle a solid front axel or does it have CV shafts. thanks for the help

Lift the back of your car. With a stable rest and with the two hind wheels hanging, run your car up to the speed where you experienced vibration. have someone take care of the throttle and shifting while you observe the transmission shaft. You may have an imbalanced shaft.

Look on the face of the rotor. Not the part the pads contact. Between the lug nuts. Many rotors have 2 phillips head screws holding them in place. If there are no screws then it is probably rusted in place and will need to be smacked with a hammer until it pops off. If you are replacing the rotor then don't be shy beat the hell out of it. It is not uncommon at all to have to shatter the rotor to get it to come off if it is really rusted in there good. I have seen it take a professional mechanic with a 3lb. sledge hammer near an hour or more to get 1 rotor off when the rust is really bad.
