Only the rust lip on the rotor holding it on

Sand down some of the outer edge or just
pull the caliper toward you, to compress the piston

Those rotors will need machining

Try the Raybestos Ceramic Pads

SOURCE: dodge ram 2500 4x4 caliper bolts won't come loose

they are usually loctited from the factory, you will have to heaten the bolt, use a small torch,or a good heat gun on the head of the bolt only,be very carefull not to burn the rubbers on the bolts. one of the small solder torches works well,it takes a few minutes each bolt, but you woon't burn the rubbers.

How to replace Front brakes 2010 Dodge journey?

Hi Steve, I'm glad to help. First, take of the front wheel's. Then press the calipers inward, this will make it easier to remove the calipers. Next, remove the calipers with the old pads. PUSH the calipers all the way back and install the new pads. There are only 2 bolts holding a single caliper. NEXT, If you plan to replace the rotors. NOTE: Which I recommend. You'll need to remove the bracket that holds the caliper, there is only 2 bolts holding it to the spindle. NEXT, Remove the rotor and relace with new rotors. Note: sometimes the original rotors are stuck because of rust you'll need to tab them off with a hammer. After installing the new rotors, it helps to put one nut on to hold the rotor in-place. Then re-install the bracket, the caliper and thighten the bolts. CAUTION: DO NOT try to drive the vehicle until pumping the brakes and they are very firm. Install the wheels and your good to go. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Steve!

My front brake pads keep holding up...when I drive they get really hot and wont release...what's the deal?

Your brake caliper or your brake hardware is sticking. Pull it apart(two bolts) and push the caliper back in with a spreader or a c-clamp. The grease the brake hardware(where the bolts go in). That might do the trick. If you have a hard time getting the caliper peston back in then you need to replace it and bleed the brake system.

How do i remove the front brake calibers on a 1991 chevy 4x4 k1500

The front brake calipers are held on by two long bolts with female 3/8" Allen heads on them The socket needed will be a 1/2" Drive 3/8" Allen. The bolt heads are at the rear of the caliper so leave the steering unlocked so you can turn the brake rotor in the direction that allows access. It will be esier to remove the caliper if you depress the caliper piston with a large screwdriver before trying to remove it after the bolts are removed. See bolt picture below.

How do you remove the front disc brakes?

To remove the front disc brakes , you must remove the break caliber assembly . Keep in mind that on some brake calipers a special Torx Drive T40 or T45 must be used to remove the caliber bolts from the spindle assembly . Also , Allen (Hex) bolts are sometimes used . Be sure you have the right tools .
1. Properly block both rear wheels at the front in the back of each wheel.
2. Loosen the lug nuts on both front wheels one turn on each nut.
3.Jack up and support the front of the car on Jack stands with the wheels one to 2in. off the ground.
4. Remove the two bolts on the inside of the caliber the secure it to the spindle .
5.Once the bolts have been removed the caliber should pull straight away from the rotor and spindle assembly .
6.Remove your old brake pads , clean the assembly , properly lubricate the moving parts as necessary , especially the floating sleeve as the assembly is called a floating caliber which means half of the Caliper is bolted to the spindle (inner) but the other half floats (outer).
7.Use a large see clamp centered between the caliper piston and caliper housing to push the piston all the way back into the caliber cylinder by turing (1 turn at a time) the screw until the piston is flush with the caliber face .
8. Install your new brake pads .
9. use the reverse procedure to assemble everything back together. Good luck and be safe....

How do i change my front brake pads? do I have to remove the 2 main caliber housing bolts or is there an easier way?

There is no easy way. Here is what you do. Prepare a rope or wire before you remove the Caliper. Have this rope or wire hanging down available to tie off the caliper when removed.
Slide the caliper off, remove the pads and replace the Hardware. The Brake Quiet compound is a good product to use. Undo the Master cylinder cap and leave open.
Take an old pad and **** it up to the caliper piston, then use a C clamp or wood block to drive the piston flush into the caliper.
Either refinish or replace the rotors and then slide the caliper over the rotor and use the new hardware. Bolt into place.
You may still need to bleed the brakes, check Master Cylinder level and replace cap.
