you have to take off the steering wheel.if you dont have the right tools to do so i would not attempt it.the turn signal switch has to be moved it just pulls over the end of the column.then there is a torx head screw at about 1 oclock in the column that has to be removed.and the ign.just pulls out.the dimmer switch is kinda tricky.a locksmith usually dont charge to much to do this job.it would probably cost you more to buy the tools you need to do it yourself

The security thing could be the interpreter, but here is something for you to consider. Do you have another car that has security. Another GM or a chrysler? If you have another key on the ring that gets too close to the field generated to intercept the crystal in your ignition key it will shut it down for a while. I had an 01 Impala and a 99 LHS, and I had to remove my LHS key because it was causing this same problem.
The Trac off light is because of the ABS. Traction control uses the ABS to control the slipping of a tire. It cannot work if ABS does not work. Get the ABS fixed and you will probably find your traction control will work again too.
Hope this helps.
