Why does the immobiliser only give spark for 15sec on my '98 VW POLO Clasic

I would have thought it wouldn't give any sparks or it wouldn't be immobilising anything? Are you sure you don't have a cold start problem that allows initial cranking but fails to run? Have a careful think about what is happening and when and maybe a word with a dealer to see if this model has a history of this.

Look on the intake manifold often the cylinder order is marked on it.Then plug in the proper coil wire.

I need a diagram for the firing order on distributor for a 1998 1.4 vw polo

1 , 3, 4, 2 1 is at end of engine opposite to transmission, set engine to top dead centre using timing mark if you can see them, or take plugs out rotate engine and watch for no 1 piston coming up to top
