SOURCE: 92 F250 ignition tumbler can't remove

You need to remove the steering wheel and disassemble the steering column far enough to access the lock cylinder release tab from the inside. If you have already purchased a replacement cylinder, you can locate it quite easily.

SOURCE: 1989 F150 ignition cylinder switch

Remove the ignition switch cylinder and inspect the contacts in the column. Look for dark spots, scratches, excessive scuffing. My guess is that cleaning the contacts with a little tiny piece of sandpaper and perhaps bending them out a little (so there is more pressure between the contacts when you reinstall the cyclinder) will cure the problem.

SOURCE: abs motor run after ignition switch is shut off on 2000Expedition

the quickest way to check if the ABS motor is working properly, is to switch the relay with another to verify it is not just a stuck open relay! if this doesnt solve it, have a scan done on ABS system to verify component function......good luck, marty

Sounds like your fuel pump is about to fail. Have pressure check run on fuel pump. If low then replace.

Car was running fine, shut it off, and wil not start, cranks, but does not start

Spray a small amount of fuel in the intake manifold and if car starts then your fuel pump or relays have failed. this is how i found out my fuel pump failed in my truck, it was running great, i shut it off and then it wouldnt start again, after pouring some fuel in the intake it started right up and then died , i changed the fuel pump and she runs great.

Ignition Problems

Try forgetting about all the wires. Run a hot lead to a push-button to energize the small trigger wire on the starter. Run another to a toggle, then to the battery terminal on the distributor and it should work fine...I wouldn't do it this way if I was going to drive it daily but for a demo vehicle that's just fine.

Starter keeping trying to turn over the engine and won't shut off

Pulling the battery is fine, I would suggest the remote starter or the ignition switch are bad. Its not the solenoid if it starts the car, solenoids default to off not to on.

1994 saturn starts intermittently

Saturn Ion's have a problem with the starter switch in the steering column. The security feature built into the key is a small resistor. When the key is inserted, the engine computer 'reads' the resistance and accepts the key as valid. The problem is that the pin that the key contacts is gummed up INSIDE the ignition switch. A new switch will fix the problem but Saturn won't cover the replacement though they have issued a tech bulltein on the problem.

The other fix that I did based on an Internet search is to cut the small 24 ga white wire coming from the ignition switch WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING. The engine computer defaults to the run mode and will no longer look for the key verification. The small key symbol remains lit on the dash but the car starts everytime. Small price to pay. The real answer is that Saturn should replace or discount the repair due to HEAVY grease in the switch the gums up over time. Under 40 degrees, the connection is lost to the computer.

2002 Yukon Denali will not start

I have the exact some problem 01 Yukon 5.3 – Sometimes my security light also comes on for no reason? Wonder if this has something to do with the remote starter? When this does happen all I have to do is wait for 15 minutes and it fires up just fine. Pisses me off though…
