Question about 1998 GMC Sonoma

Open Question

I have a 1998 Gmc Sonoma that has a few problems......first off the instrument panel is flickering all the icon lights frequently, the fuel gage isnt working and i have a OBDII code titled po0452 for the Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Switch - Low Voltage, i know its located on the fuel tank but im not sure where. Is it located in the black box? Could you help me out because i just purchased 30 day tags in ohio and im wanting to fix this asap so i can pass the emissions test.

It is not connected to the code. The tranny has a temp sensor for overdrive not to work when tranny is cold

There is a solenoid that open and closes with 12 volts, usually located close to the fuel filler tube area. This open to allow you to fill your tank, then closes after some inputs for the computer are satisfied, and then a pressure sensor verifies the system is working. First, make sure the cgas cap is tight, and if the light doesn't go away in a couple days of normal driving, get the solenoid checked.

Do you have HIDS, cheap HID kits flicker? otherwise check the wiring harness. could be a loose connection.

My 1998 2.2 litre gmc sonoma it bringing up a frequent misfire code when hooked up to a computer...i changed plugs,wires,the fuel filter has been changed and 2 sensors as well...it takes a long time to get...


Possible failed fuel injector if the code is for one cylinder only. Multiple cylinder misfires can be caused by low fuel press. Another possibility is a vacuum leak at intake runners.
