SOURCE: how to top up automatic transmission fluid on jag

It has to be filled from the fillplug in the transmission ( there is no dispstick) You can buy a manual pump at someplace like autozone that will make it easier. On the bottom of the transpan is a drain/check plug, remove the small center part, that is the check plug. The remove the fill plug at the rear of the transmission and pump fluid into that hole until it starts to drip from the check plug. It is a really dumb set up I would like to meet the guy who came up with it in a dark alley.

SOURCE: adding transmission fluid to 2001 jaguar s-type

On a 2000 s-type 4.0 There is a combination drain plus check valve on the bottom of the Pan and a fill hole on the back right side. Use WD-40 to help free up the allen-screw in the middle of the drain plug. Hold the drain screw while opening the level checking screw. If it is full, a small amount may run out. If light red fluid runs out it's OK. If brown, You got a problem. It uses special fluid! Take it to have it done in a Jaguar service facility. Or educate yourself on how to do it.

SOURCE: 2002 x type .. is it possible to OVER fill the

02-06 Jaguar X-types should all have a sealed transmission which cannot have fluid added to them but by the transmission shop. My wife's 02 x-type had the tranny go out completely at about 80K. Cost us $3500 and our transmission guy said it was a very common problem/manufacturing defect.
If it doesn't go into reverse odds are the transmission is on its way out. Good luck!

Where do I put my transmission fluid at

If it's an automatic, put fluid in through the dipstick tube with a funnel. If it's a manual, there will be a fill plug about half-way up from bottom of transmission. Remove the fill plug, and use a hand-type pump to fill it till fluid just starts coming out of hole. Good luck.

What type of trans. fluid does it take and how do i know when its full

Transmission Fluid Fluid Level Checking & Filling To Check:
  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle to read ATF temperature. ATF checking temperature should be 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C).
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4. Place a drain pan under the transmission.
  5. Allow the ATF temperature to reach 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C). Automatic transmission fluid inspection plug vw-07-00-7273.gif

  6. Remove the inspection plug from the transmission housing. Fluid is pipe will run out. If fluid continues to drip out, no additional fluid is needed. If only the fluid in the overflow pipe runs out, additional fluid is needed.
To Fill:
Automatic transmission fluid filler pipe vw-07-00-7274.gif

  1. Pry the cap from the filler pipe. The cap locking device will be destroyed during removal.
  2. Pull the plug from the filler pipe.
  3. Add fluid slowly with VAG 1924 or equivalent until fluid runs out of the inspection hole. Install the inspection hole plug.
  4. Install the plug in the filler pipe and secure with a new cap.

WHAT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID IS NEEDED FOR 2000 BMW Z3 6 CYLINDER

On the manual the fluid is "lifetime" BMW MTF LT-1, SOME models used ATF. There is a plate on the side of the transmission that will give what your particular model was filled with.

On the automatic the fluid type should be printed on the "type plate" on the side of the transmission

both are usually Dexronn III ATF, but please check your plate!!!

TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID NEEDED FOR 97 CHEVY CAVALIER AND HOW MUCH

You can use Dexron II or Dexron III, but you can also use the improved Dexron VI which replaces both the afore mentioned fluids. Use Dexron VI as it is an improvment. Caution: Do not overfill. Check fluid level according to the instructions in your owner's manual and make sure the car is parked on a level surface or you will get a false reading.

Where do you fill the automatic transmission?

If you have a tranny dipstick, then you would need a long tranny type funnel and fill there.
If you do not have a dip stick, then you would have to raise the vehicle, and look at the tranny. There will be a higher and a lower plug on it. Remove the higher plug and stick your finger in the hole. If you feel fluid, then it is full.

How can i put transmission fluid into my car,how much do i put in

Check the Level of the transmission fluid by pulling the Transmission dip stick. The colour of the dip stick is most likely red in colour and you need to check it with the car's engine running and hot. Pull the dip stick out clean it off and check it again. always check the second reading.
To fill the transmission, you need to fill it through the Transmission dip stick tube. Yes your going to need a thin funnel and good luck. Do not over fill the transmission. over filling will cause damage to the transmission.
Best thing is, if you have not done a transmission oil and filter change. Have it done at a Transmission shop and you'll know that the transmission level is fine and have them show you have to check and fill the Transmission. As time goes by and mileage get's high, the fluid will get contaminated and the filter plugged up which would in turn cause a transmission failure.
Good luck and hope this helps. Oh and the type of transmission fluid should be in your manuel or stamped on the dip stick.
