the shut off gasket failure or when you switch tanks the valve is not closing alway, i change the valve first, and if manual switch over the switch is not totally closing. install 2 way valve or 3way
switch between tanks, and refill options, set it up so only you know the right settings to get proper gas.
air bleeds are on the filter housing and on the fuel pump
If it has individual fuel lines to the injectors the loosen the injector nut to each injector and wind the motor over until you get drips at the nut. re-tighten the nuts and it should start
When diesels run out of fuel they fill the lines with air. To get it to start you have to bleed the air out of the system starting at the fuel filter pump and any where else there is a bleed screw. IF you have or can get your hands on a owners manual or a work shop manual for your car then the process and location of bleeders will be explained.
DID YOU RUN IT OUT OF FUEL WHEN THESE PROBLEMS STARTED? ,ALSO HAVE YOU BROKE ONE OF THE INJECTOR LINES LOOSE TO SEE IF IT WAS GETTING FUEL UP TO THE INJECTORS? IF IT IS NOT GETTING FUEL TO THE INJECTORS IT VERY WELL HAVE A BAD INJECTION PUMP, IF YOU RAN IT OUT OF FUEL YOU WILL HAVE TO BLEED THE SYSTEM OUT TO GET IT TO STAY RUNNING AFTER SPRAYING IT WITH STARTING FLUID,AND JUST TO CHECK ARE YOU SURE IT HAS FUEL IN IT? ,ANOTHER THING YOU MIGHT CHECK IS IF IT HAS DUAL TANKS ,SOMETIMES THE SWITCH OVER VALVE WILL GO BAD & WILL KEEP ANY FUEL FROM COMING FROM THE TANKS SOMETIMES YOU CAN PLAY WITH SWITCH AND GET IT TO WORK , ALSO CHECK THE FUEL FILTER TO MAKE SURE IT'S NOT CLOGGED IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY,ALSO CHECKTHE FUEL TO SEE IF IT HAS ANYTHING IN THE FUEL,SLUDGE, WATER,OR ANY OTHER FOREIGN LIQUIDS, IF IT'S GETTING FUEL UP TO THE INJECTORS.
