I was told the transmission line would NOT be best gotten from a junk-yard. Maybe I got bad advice as normally we head there first.

it's not bad at all to get one from there. Just make sure to blow the line out with compressed air to make sure it's clean.

Junk yard, ask for a replacement line.
dealer is next option, but parts for saturn's are about to become hard to get.

They should be 8mm x 1.5 thread. If you take a nut to a GM dealer you should be able to find a correct replacement. A hardware store should have something comparable.

2006 saturn ion radiator replacement

Difficult to say since the standard replacement fee would not apply. You may have to just pay by the hour, usually half the professional rate.

The thermostat is defective but cannot find it

Follow the top hose on the radiator to the engine, should be a dome shaped fitting, housing, it is in there. Always. Check it out.

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 4x4 6.0 liter engine. This vehicle has engine oil cooler located the radiator tank drivers side. I have developed a coolant leak located where the upper threaded...

The procedure you are thinking about doing is the correct procedure but you need to know that there is a rubber seal behind the large nut. Best to remove the line, remove the large nut and replace the rubber seal. Overtorquing the nut will crack the plastic radiator tank. Double check BOTH fluid levels and conditions when finished.

I have a 06 saturn ion. my window will go up

towards the back of the door is a short track that runs left to right. there should be a nut either loose or missing on this track. put loctite on the stud, then put the nut back on. do this AFTER the window is back on track.

Transmission oil lines leaking

The lines have holes in them? Or are they just leaking at the connections? If just the connections, then all you need is two wrenches of the correct size. One on the permanent fixture nut like the radiator or the transmission, and the other wrench goes on the line. After removal, clean the threads, and apply some teflon tape and reassemble. tight is tight, and too tight is broke (stripped).
