94 jeep grand cherokee has hesitation to start

The car will start after a few cranks, but it gets anoying after awhile and want to fix this. Ive had the fuel pump replaced not to long ago and im hoping that thats not the case again. Ive looked up info on it and cant seem to find an exact answer without going to an autoshop and paying something ridiculous. Some one please help me on any answers that this may be.

3 times, same symptoms-must be something else. Check crank position sensor and cam position sensor. Crank sensor is for ignition timing-advance and retard. Cam sensor is for fuel injector synchronization. If one is bad, it may cause problems like yours. Just a suggestion.

My 93 jeep grand cherokee is not getting fuel...if I disconnect the negative post for awhile and then reconnect it, the jeep gets fuel and will run....what is going on?

If the check engine light does not light up on the dash when you turn on the ignition, at those times when your jeep doesn't want to start, then your main jeep ecm is in need of repair. The fuel pump relay will get energized only after that check engine light comes on. It's a known problem, especially with the first and second year production Grand Cherokees, 93 and 94.

Ive got a 94 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 liter i put a 93 4.0 liter and caint get it to fire but it has different distributor

i think you pretty much answered your own question there. Use the '94 distributor in the other engine and make sure that all the sensors are in place, connected and all for a 94. Also check the crank position sensor. If left in place during install, they can get damaged if the flywheel hits it. (hope you matched the flywheels too...if different, it will not run.

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't start

The crankshaft position sensor was seriously problematic in those old jeeps. It's located towards the top of the bell housing slightly to the driver's side I think.

Check body and dash grounds. Pressure test injector rail. You may have either a partially plugged fuel filter or low capacity pump.
