Question about 1998 Toyota Corolla

Flickering and non-working headlights

Ive got a Toyota Corolla with almost 200,000 miles on it. recently i have been having TONS of issues. the biggest one being that my headlights aren't working right. They flicker when i start the car and once i turn the light switch, they either go normal or shut off completely. ive been left having to drive home in the dark MANY times because of this and in desperate need of help.. ive checked the fuses, the bulbs, the ground wire, near everything. nothing is working. any ideas?!

With everything youve checked, its time to start replacing wires.

SOURCE: 2003 Toyota Corolla Headlights

I have an 03 corolla and in 04 we had this same problem. It was really bad when the temps would dip very low(appeaered to be cold sensitive). I would jump-start the car and let it warm up and the problem would go away. The dealership replaced the module that worked with the sensor(the sensor for the auto headlights) and since then we have not had this problem. Also from my understanding there was a manufacturers release on this, but not a recall. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Headlights won't turn off, ever.

Sounds like a bad headlight switch. Also was there an alarm system on it at anytime? Alot of people hack all kinds of wires installing them improperly. I'll bet that's the case but I could be wrong. Let me know.

I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The engine light is on and the code is p0741 torque coverta . The car has 200,000 miles on it but the trans runs fine. this code has been coming up since the car had 80,000...

How much wear is there on the clutch packs in the transmission? How are the bushings? Do you want a warranty? What is the blue book value on the car? Can you recoup the cost of a new tranny if you have to sell it or scrap it? Those are issues that you need to decide before you say no to the R/R transmission.

I have a 96 corolla with AT that will not shift out of first when driving. i changed the fluid and filter without any improvement. any sugestions ? or should i start looking for a new car.

I would look for a bad shift solenoid. This item will be inside the transmission pan and on the outside of the valve body. There should be three of them.

Start car- blue smoke comes out. Using some oil- not too much. Does it need a valve seal job? Toyota Camry LE 2000 4 cylinder. 200,000 miles on it.

With 200,000 miles, it wouldn't pay to just do the valves
& seals,if that was the only issue

Cylinder are too worn by now

Drive it for a year or so, than replace or rebuild it
