Question about 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

1 Answer

2006 EQUINOX THE WHIRRING/WHINING PROBLEM CONTINUES. IT USUALLY STARTS WHEN I AM WARMING UP THE ENGINE OR WHEN I ACCELERATE AND IT STOPS WHEN I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MECHANICS AND THEY CANNOT DETECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A 2006 EQUINOX WITH A DRIVE-LT2-LT4. CAN YOU HELP ME? SHOULD I TAKE IT TO A DEALER?

I have the same problem but I have not taken it back to the dealer yet! If it is a normal annoying noise, then I can live with it. Could it have anything to do with the type of oil used?

My 2006 chev equinox was driving fine but then the check engine light came on...when I went to accelerate there was nothing the vehicle would not move...also the TCS light came on as well

TCS light is for electronic throttle control . This will set a DTC - diagnostic trouble code ! Your best bet is have it taken , towed to a qualified repair shop .

Open the hood. Listen for where the noise is coming from. Fix the thing that is making the noise.

2006 buick ranier engine makes whining noise that gets worse when you accelerate. how do you fix this?

We replaced our idler pulley that the serpentine belt runs on twice. It cost us roughly $20 and only about half hour to switch it out.

My equinox is whining and gets louder when you accelerate

Not being there to listen...I'd say a belt, idler pulley, tentioner pulley, or alternator...in that order from least expensive to most...

Hope this helps...

Loud whistle on right side excelerates as I excelerate. stops at 20-15 miles an hour

ensure that your exhaust pipes do not have a problem. as you accelerate more explosion comes out the exhuast pipes and if there is a "hole" in it then the whistle will get louder as you accelrate more.

Loud noise from engine bay on start up. it continues when the car is running. the only way to describe it is it sounds like a whosing noise

I don't know what whosing sounds like, but I have a high pitched whirring noise coming from my somewhere in the engine bay, my noise starts when the car starts and continues while driving, goes away at around 60 mph but will come back when I accelerate or decelerate, I have a friend that is a master tech at volkswagen, he suspects the alternator is making the noise, this is my first TDI, I bought it with 150k on it, I don't have any experience with TDI's, but am a Service Advisor, and it has been my general experience that all volkswagens are posessed! :) Always having some sort of electrical issue, Not sure if that will help.... Good Luck!
