Question about 2006 Nissan Titan

2 Answers

2006 Nissan Titan will start and drive about 100m before sputtering and sutting off. It wont start again until 30 min to an hour after last attempt. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Auto Zone said it could be a sensor in the fuel pump or the entire fuel pump. But the car witll start and rungreat for a few minutes before it shuts off. Also, Advanced auto parts said it shut off because "one of the many sensors could be getting hot shutting the engine down" so I'm guessing that when it cools down neaarly an hour later the car is willing to start again repeating the process above.

sounds like a dead battery. Disconnect one cable for about 5 min and then re-connect it. That will reset the ECM.

There could be a problem with the security system or the main computer could have a burnt spot or a crack in the board. Had an issue a few years back with a Dodge Dakota will run fine when a computer got hot it would shut down. I would take it and have it put on a scanner to see if there is any codes then go from there

Not sure to be honest as to what the cause could be ,i would suspect a coil pack problem or even the ignition module if it has one but i think it may be built into the ECU ,although you havent stated if this is a diesel engined vehicle so having more information would help a great deal

My truck is doing the exact same thing. I have been told it is the Intelligent Power Distribution Module or IPDM. The Nissan Dealership that is working on my truck says $400.00 parts and labor to fix.
