Someone will have to figure out if you are missing fuel or spark when it does not start.

I have a 2001 Buick rendezvous. sometimes it will start fine. other times it just turns over but will not start. if I spray gas into where the air filter is most times it will start .

I bet it has a hard time starting after you drive it for a while, make a 10 minute stop, and then try to start it?

If this is the case try this the next time you think it will not start. Turn the key to run but do not attempt to start the vehicle. Wait 3-5 seconds. Turn the key off. Repeat this 3 -4 times. after the fourth time attempt to start.

If it starts every time than you either have a bad fuel pressure regulator or a bad check valve in the fuel pump. The regulator is located on the fuel rail near the throttle body. there is a small vacuum line running to it. remove the vacuum line and see if gas come out of the regulator. if it does replace it immediately.

Why does our 2002 subaru outback sometimes refuse to start and other times starts right up?

Get a $10 MAF CRC cleaner to clean MAF sensor and throttle body, start here first since it's cheap.

Ichanged the head on my 91 geo storm 1.6 dohc and now it won't start

Double check crankshaft timing mark, on your lower timing cover has some timing marks - crankshaft should be on the 0 mark. Camshaft timing marks--intake camshaft mark set at 3 o'clock and exhaust camshaft mark set a 9 o'clock. These timing marks are critical for motor to run and start correctly. These timings marks can move while trying to install the timing belt. After, you confirm or reset timing and belt, you can confirm timing is correct by rotating the crankshaft twice. Your timing marks should be on right on timing marks discussed at the top of the page. If timing marks are off, start over with timing process.

I have an 1995 f150 4.9 4x4. It will not start. it will just keep cranking and cranking. I have spark, I have tried starting fluid and still will not start. I do not know what to check next ????

timings off or timing belt broken slipped remove oil cap try and see if valves are moving.Try removing a couple plugs spray in some gas/starting fluid and replace plugs kinda quickly and attempt to start should fire. if it does exhaust valves are dumping fuel before compression stoke timing issue

1999 landcruiser has intermittent starting problems. Sometimes it starts fine. Other times turns over once then nothing. Other times clicks but no turn-over. Other times no click, no start. Battery is good...

I had a similar problem with my landcruiser sometimes it would start no probs at all and other times it would start to crank and then stop and you had to try a couple of times to start it. It ended up being the starter motor contacts failing.
Just another thing to look at

Engine experiences extended cranking to start it at times

Listen at the fuel tank when the key is turned on. The pump should run for a short time and shut off. If it continues to run, the pump is worn out and should be replaced. The fuel filter should be replaced if it hasn't been done lately.
