Question about Cars & Trucks
Had trouble starting, especially in cold weather, occasionally would show all lights on dash but absolutely nothing when turned key. Found loose earth connection. always had tappit sound from cold. Got through mot, but develloped loud vibrating noise which came & went when driving, sometimes giving a little exceleration when it disappeared. Eventionally staying there permanately. when staring from cold it would cut out with a bang, like something had hit you from behind.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

By the sound of what your saying i think the easiest and cheapest thing is to check the driveshaft. Besure to check the uni's. You may not see any problem with it if this is the case remove it and check the yoke of the gearbox & diff if these are ok take the driveshaft in in the shop to be rebalanced.

A/C -Heater controls
Has you are aware the A/C Clutch compressor is engaged at all times when the defrost mode is turned on. Turn off all heater controls. If the noise is gone it will be either the Air conditioner compressor clutch bearing or possible the idler pulley bearing .

Sounds like carbon build up on the contacts inside the electrical ignition switch which is not the key cylinder. Its located on the lower steering coluum if coluum shift or if you have a floor shift it will be inside the console
