Not just because the car won't start

There is something faulty about the passlock system on these cars. It's happened to me. Nothing wrong with the car, but when you go to start you get nothing. Don't worry all you have to do I reset the security system. Turn the car to ON and you will notice the security light come on and blinking. You have to let it sit for about 10 minutes until the security light turns off. Then turn the key off and then start. Problem solved. Try taking a air compressor to the inside of the ignition to clean the sensor inside.

96 Ford explorer i went to deive foward and i herd a bang then i could drive foward anymore i can back up just fine and i can shift gears just fine what couls be the possible problems

_Definitely_ bad ''solenoid pack.''

Do yourself a _big_ favor and have it repaired at the dealer. (Usually advise is _opposite_ of that, but that tranny needs dealer attention).

Trust me on this one...

Ps... Ask the dealer to remove ''adaptive shift learning'' (i.e. the computer ''learns'' your driving habits, and it doesn't work out well with multiple drivers). They can reprogram for ''standard automatic shifting.'' I cannot tell you how happy I am with that programming.

I took my car into shop they said i need a pcm so i bought one now my car still wont start.... the fuel pump turns on when i go to try and start it. it is getting spark.. so what else can it be?..

that pcm needs reprograming, you just cant buy one and put it in, the new computer needs to be programed or the car wont run, it might start but it will die out, have the pcm programed and if that was your problem the car should run. hope this helps.

The key(s) may need to be reprogramed to the ignition. Car security issue I think, from what you are saying.
