Is it safe to drive with a leaky gear box

Obviously the leak should be fixed as soon as possible. If the leak is slow and can be maintained then it is not all that unsafe. If the leak is quick enough that it runs low every time it is driven this is unsafe not only for you but motorcycles that may hit your gear fluid.

Jaguar stype 2000 v8 engine unsafe mode

It is usally caused when the engine detects that the engine is in an unsafe condition that common sense. But its mostly caused in the v8 jags due to harness problems.Check the mass air flow sensor if u can see some open wires that can short to ground from the raditior brackets.Or the harness located on the front left side of the engine running downward. the harness usally shorts with groung from the topleft side due to improper installations from the mehanics....(kuwait)(Abu Ali)

I have a 2007 volvo s40 and castrol oil is some how getting into the overflow tank but there is not any water in the oil. My question is what would be causing this and is it something to be considered as...

From what you described, it might be a problem with a blown cylinder head gasket, and if so, yes, it needs urgent attention and should be replaced immediately, in order to limit further damage to your motor. the engine has two distinct channels for transport of coolant and oil separately. If you notice oil in coolant or coolant in oil, then there is a break somewhere that is allowing the two fluids to mix. The most common area for this to occur is between the cylinder head and the engine block, and the cylinder head gasket separates the two. So my gut feeling is a blown cylinder head gasket. Good Luck in rectifying the fault!

Red warning light with an exclamation mark keeps coming on?

A red light always means STOP or DO NOT DRIVE.
There are two possible reasons - the car is unsafe to drive, or further driving will cause damage to the car.

Kia Spectra Was Driven Hot , It Overheats And Blows White smoke,is This A Serious Problem or Fixable Its Not Seized!! It Runs But Gets Hot!!

If you overheat an engine with a cast iron block and an aluminium head, they will expand at different rates as they have different expansion coefficients. This will usually cause separation of the gasket and if you are losing coolant, it's a near certainty. The answer is a new gasket (pennies) plus a head skim at a local engineering shop, $100 or so (otherwise it won't seal again). You need a torque wrench and a workshop manual to check the torque settings and slackening/tightening order if doing it yourself, otherwise you'll cause further warping of the head. If the head isn't skimmed, it will go again after 50 miles or so.

Yes. Bumper problem with 2010 Honda Odyssey. What should I do?

You should go see a body shop. Without further information on the problem it is impossible to diagnose, but unless you have experience with cars, I would stay away from trying to do body work on your own - it is unsafe and will not turn out well. -Alex

Why when i push the gas on my 2004 trailblazer it wont speed up

Your SUV has an electronic throttle body. Unlike the other type which is driven by cable, this relies on multiple sensors in the gas pedal and multiple sensors in the throttle body. If one or more of the sensors don't agree (i.e: one sensor says you're at 80% it while another says 40% throttle) then it goes in to a default mode or "limp home" mode. It basically makes you take it to be repaired because it is unsafe to be driven.

Car driven by VW assistance after turbo broken after 3 miles smoked badly and had to be towed to garage. Now have a massive bill because of all additional damage. was this caused through it being driven

This is what is called "swallowing the turbo". Turbo's usually fail at high speed which is around 120,000rpm. Once either the impeller or turbine stikes the turbo body, it is "all over" red rover and all the broken bits and pieces go down the intake plenum and into the engine, causing massive upper sylinder and piston damage. This happens in the wink of an eye and nothing you could do about it. Further driving may have made it worse, but did not cause it in the first instance.

Abs light on my 2005 seat ibeza stays on and the handbrake light flashes

Don't Drive....
It's detected a serious fault with your braking system. Anything related to your brakes could cause this to go off... The car should not be driven as the brakes may fail at any time without any further warning

I have 98 gmc 1500 pickup, 4wd, with an intermittent vibration or rumble at 45 mpg and above.

A bad idler arm or Pittman arm is a common cause for this problem. Could also be as simple as a tire out of balance. A bad wheel bearing can also cause this. Have it checked out it could cause a very unsafe condition if allowed to get worse.
