Question about Cars & Trucks
If the battery is being charged while you are driving, it should not be low. The code is for low voltage for a component of the computer which happened when the battery was drained.
If the problem continues you may have to get the dealer to check it out.

The engine light was on, but is now off? I would check for stored engine codes to hopefully get some idea as to what the heck was going on, as your confidence in taking a 200 mile trip is probably a bit shaky. Most parts stores will check for codes for free. You can post any questions u have w/ the codes here, along w/ the above info. Curt

Apparently this is a recall matter and will be fixed at no charge. KIA Consumer Assistance Center 1-800-333-4542. Recall notices were to go out in May/June 2009.

Try removing the battery terminals and clean both posts and terminals. Coat same with an anti-corrosion grease. Wash your hands after this to prevent mysterious holes in your clothes. Start the engine and measure the voltage at the battery terminals--should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts. Hope this helps.
