I replaced the thermostat on my 1993 Mercury Cougar xr7 and it is now leaking a pretty constant stream of water. What could be the problem?

with the indulgence of mrsno,
Could you pls post back with the model # of the JBL stereo system?
Initially, this may be of some help. It is the basic radio wiring/connectors of Mecury, Ford and Lincoln.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

The tensioner is not adjustable, the spring in it provides a preset tension, I don't understand what you did, but if it came apart then most likely you damaged it, buy a new one, if you get it wrong and it falls apart on the road you are stuck.

starter replacement itself would not effect transmission, check that transmission cooler lines to radiator were not loosend or damaged changing starter.place a piece of cardboard under vehicle to help pinpoint leak.
