whether it is the smaller (4R70w) or the bigger (E4OD), the solenoids are under the pan. The E4OD solenoids are in one big block where the other trans has them seperated

If it is an automatic transmission it is by the fire wall on the pasenger side of the engine. If it is a manual transmission then it does not have a dipstick.
