My 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix gt keeps blowing the 30a fuse for the blower motor resistor wondering why it keeps blowing after replacing the resistor I've went through 4 of these fuses

Possible blower motor is defective pulling excessive amperages causing fuse to blow continuously regardless if its still operable.

Battery draw from bcm1

The 30A IBCM1 fuse 20 is the source of power fed to the body control module and specifically the 2A IGN SENSOR FUSE, the 10A CLUSTER/THEFT FUSE, the key in ignition switch logic, the 10A HVAC CTRL (BATT) FUSE, the 10A RADIO FUSE, and the 10A AIR BAG (BATT) FUSE.

Where is the 3amp fuse for the air and heat blower under the dash

There is no 3A fuse for the HVAC system. The blower motor has two fuses, a 40A fuse (#35) in the underhood fuse box (this for fan speed 5) and a 30A fuse (#44) in the rear fuse panel under the rear seat (this is for fan speeds 1 - 4. Fuses #36 and #39 are for the HVAC control module.

How to change a fuse in 1998 pontiac grand prix for the heater

Instrument panel fuse block gm-06-00-541.gif
prev.gif next.gif Look for the HSEAT/LUM 15 A or R DEFOG 30A or HVAC HI 30A fuses as examples. Use a fuse puller to make it easier to pull the fuse out, and test the fuse first with a fuse tester that lights up on bad fuses that are energized.
