You Can Replace The Wheel Studs Call Napa And Find Out How Much They Are. Dont Go Dealer Cause They Are $20 A Piece And At Napa Like $4 Also You Can Try Autozone Or Kraigen But They Never Have The Ones I Need. Its Also Very Easy To Do Yourself If You Can Change The Brakes You Can Do This. You Can Have Them Pressed In At Any Tire Shop Usually $5.
Happy Fixing

Hoe to replace wheel lugs

    • 1 Purchase a new stud and nut. Inspect the others on the same wheel for signs of wear if you don't know when the stud first received damage. Get more if necessary so you don't have to tear the wheel apart again. If you don't know the size, take the stud to the store with you once you remove it.
    • 2 Look in the trunk for the jack. You need to get blocks before you jack up the Galant. Block the wheel diagonal to your jack placement. Jack the edge up enough to remove the tire.
    • 3 Take off the tire, then the calipers and the rotor in order to access the hub in the front. If the rear brakes are drum, take off the drum. If they're disc, use the same process as you would in the front.
    • 4 Line the stud up with an opening in the back so there is room to both remove and replace it. You may need to remove the hub and insert it in the vise for this step if you have no clearance.
    • 5 Hit the end of the stud with a mallet to drive it through the hub and out the back. You can insert the new stud in as far as you can by hand.
    • 6 Thread two wheel bolts onto the stud. As you tighten down the bolts, it pulls the stud through the hole. Watch in the back and when you see the stud seat against the back of the hub, stop.
    • 7 Put all the parts back onto the vehicle wheel in the order that you removed them. Tighten the replaced the stud in your Galant.

Ford focus 2001 my front wheel studs has two broken studs, what or how i do it to replace them ? how can i take them out? thanks

Make sure you fix them . This could make other break easyly and come off, To fix the easyest wat you need a ez-out and a reversable drill, Go slow and it will come rt. out. Have to remove the axle to get to it. If on front. if on back can do easyer. A tire shop might charge you $10 to replace if you go get the studs. Good luck.

I have a 1997 isuzu rodeo. 2wd. the front left wheel hub has sheered off 3 of the lugs. do I need to replace the entire wheel hub or can the lugs be replaced? If so how.

Depends if the studs are pressed in or an as built unit. Have a look at what the stud looks like and if it appears to have little grooves in the back side, you can hammer out the other 2 and then replace. I would also look into why the studs are having that much force that they are being sheered off.

How do you remove the Wheel hub from a 2003 Acura mdx awd? I broke a wheel stud while getting the tire off and now am trying to replace the wheel stud.

if memory serves, you should be able to replace wheel stud by hammering it out backwards/inboard.then replacement is a case of pulling new stud through.

Went to get tires on Mercedes 560sel l989 and was told I need to get left front wheel hub because hub nuts are cross threaded and can't be repaired. does this sound right.

may be, have the dealer look at it, if stud holes cant be retaped then a hub would be needed. this is not an expensive repair, labor is about 1/2 hour plus the part, hope this helps.

Front wheel stud replacement for a 2006 Hyundai Sonata GL.

grind a flat spot on the round head of the new stud this should give enough clearance to install it. don't pull the hub this will damage the bearing.

Does the wheel barring have to be replaced when the stud is broke

If you use a hammer to drive the broken stud out you can cause damage to the bearing.
If you use a wheel stud press, the hub bearing will not be affected. The press will remove the old stud and install the new one.
Good luck.

How to replace lug studs on 2002 chrysler town

I'll try to help you. If you are having trouble with 3 out of 5 studs on one wheel you may want to go to an autoparts store or Salvage yard to look at the whole hub. Usually a press is used to remove the bolts so you would be taking off the hub anyway. When you pay for 3 bolts and labor you may be better off in a Salvage yard or parts place for a different hub. The rear hub on front wheel drive cars is like a trailer axle. Much simpler to remove mounting bolts and press in new bolt. But if rear has differential(rear wheel drive) it has an axle shaft. Would be easier to grind and drill out broken stud on car. You can draw new bolt into place by placing bolt through a socket and use the wheel nut to draw the bolt into the hub.

Wheel Stud

If you remove the wheel drum you can knock out the broken stud. It is pressed into the hub. Take the hub to aan auto parts store ( so you get the same size stud) and buy a new stud. put the stud into the hole in the hub. When you remount you remount the tire and tighten the lug nuts that will pull the new stud up tight in the hub.

Hope this helps

Good luck Loringh
