Battery , alternator, starter, direct short to ground, for this battery to drain that fast it has to be on a main power source

All you need to do is Remove the POSATIVE cable from the battery for about 25 seconds then reconnect it. This will reset the computer and everything else!

SOURCE: replace headlight bulb in 2000 dodge durango sxt 4.7l

There are 3 machine bolts that hold the big white part of the head light to the truck. These bolts are black and I think 7/16 but not completely sure, maybe 12mm or so. You'll need sockets, ratchet and a really long extension. Two regular extensions won't reach the bottom one. You get to all three of them from the front of the truck straight in. Once those are out, the head light assembly pulls forward and can dangle from about 10-12 inches of extra wire. This is attached to the bulb harness. 1/3 of a turn and the wire and bulb come out of the head light. Pop the new bulb back in WITH GLOVES, do not touch those halogens. And put it back together. You can use peanut butter in a deep well or regular socket to hold the screws in to get them started, or the rag thing.
It took me 14,607 hours to find these bolts and about 10 minutes to do the job! Hope it helps out!

SOURCE: Changed oil in transmission and filters now won't go into gear

I Fixed it !!! What happened was that the "O" ring that came with the filter wasn't fully seated in the pump before i put the filter on. It was kind of hard to get it to seat properly I had to get a hammer and a socket w/ an extention and tap it in. It wont go in with finger pressure alone. To find out if this is what the proble is then take off the pan and remove the filter, if the "O" ring is attached to the filter when u remove it then this is the problem.

SOURCE: replace thermostat in 2000 durango

If you look down on the radiator, on the left side, there is a larrge hose coming out of the radiator toward the engine. Where the hose ends there is a housing with 2 bolts. The Thermostat is found under that. Remove the 2 bolts an replace the thermostat. Unles your arms are very long and thin, you will probably need to do this from under the car.
Perfect time to flush/fill all coolant. Check and replace any needed hoses/clamps.

Have you checked the automatic tensioner? It sounds like your belt may be slipping, causing the alternator to not charge the battery as quickly as it needs to, which puts a lot of strain on a battery.

I would have the automatic tensioner checked and replaced, and install a new belt.

2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L 4x4. A/C is on but no air

Check the resistor pack next to the air motor blower, after you check the fues's the resistor pack is most likely blown but to be sure turn it on to heat and try the blower motor if it still does not run remove the restior pack and look and see if they are burned out, it will look like a fues thats blown. Two 1/4 screws holds it on and has 4 or 5 wires in it. If you need more help please post here.

My 2000 dodge durango battery gage goes over to 18 and if i cut if off at this time and try to crank it back up its completely dead it won't crank for at least 30 minutes or longer after this happens

sounds link alt. starting to go bad. do you need to jump it after the battery dies, or after you wait the 30 min? or when you turn the key after the 30 min does it start right up?
if it starts right up you have to much of a drain on the battery or something you may have plugged in may be draining the battery IE phone charger, radar detector, etc.
if you need to jump it then it is probably the alt. starting to go bad.
