Question about 1999 Dodge Ram
I have 2001 dodge 1500 slt laramie with 53433 miles 1st had to replace the dash --now the cruz control does not work and the transmission is slipping to where i dare not drive it as i dont feel like getting stuck in the middle of nowhere. in my time spent with trucks 53000 miles was still thought of as fairley new. i take great care of my rides in the hope they take care of me . that doesnt seem to be working in this case. i live in the hayward ca.. area and dont know a good transmission person close by to take it to ---the dealer is out of the ?. if someone has a lead to a reliable shop they know of it would be greatly appreciated
That year dodge was known for bad transmission's. I dont live near you so i cant help you with a good transmission shop.if you find a good mechanic you could buy a aftermarket trans from (jasper engines/Transmission's) for example and have your mechanic install it.

This is likely a short in the power distribution block located on your stearing column. There was a recall for this problem. Contact the dealer for information.
