Question about 1996 Pontiac Grand Am
There is a button next to the dial that controls the dome light on the left of my steering wheel. I think when I pushed it the first time on accident is when my car has randomly does not start. When I have the car jumped to get started again then it sometimes doesn't have that problem for several days or weeks and sometimes it will not start the very next time that I start it. What is that button for, it has a very strange looking symbol on it that I can't fathom what it would be for.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: car wont start...sometimes
Sounds like a bad starter solenoid, usually cheapest and easiest to replace the starter and solenoid as a unit. It is always best to check for power between the solenoid and the starter with a test light, if the solenoid clicks but the test light doesn't light up you have found the problem in the solenoid.

The lighting in the A/C control head is not serviced. If you want it repaired you will have to but a control head. Good Luck
