1996 Chevy 4X4 starter problem

Hello
The starter motor turns over cranks a few times then loses power, cranks a few more times (sounds like she's trying hard to start), then loses power for a crank, and repeats. It sounds like a loss of power, not sure what it is. We can crank the engine over easily enough manually. Replaced the starter motor/solenoid and still sounds exactly the same.
Battery checks out perfect.

How about the fuel pump...are you getting the fuel to the cylinders? Is the fuel making it through the fuel line through the fuel filter? Drop a few drops in 1 cylinder, if it fires, you have a fuel problem. Does it turn over? If not check out the motor starter!

My 1988 Jeep won't start when I crank over the engine. It will turn the motor over a few times then I lose battery power. With a cold start it sometimes will start on first attempt but it has gott

it sounds like the starter is bad but first run a pair of jumper cables from the battery to the starter and the other jumper on the ground side just to make sure you don't have a bad cable larger parts stores can test it off the car if you bring it to them

You may want to check your ignition switch? If your ignition switch is bad then it will not allow electrical power to your starter. I hope this helps.

A new starter was installed in our '96 Chevy Blazer but there is no power going to the starter. I was told to look for an inline fuse for the solenoid/thermal wiring? The starter clicks and there is...

hello ase tech here. so your starter clicks when you try to start the car correct. the first thing i would check would be the ground at the battery is it tight. next i would check to see if you can hand turn the motor over, by attacting a socket that fits the crank bolt and turn by hand if ok i would take the starter back where you bought it and request a new one.

How do i remove starter from 1996 Chevy blazer 4x4

You have to disconnect the motor mount on the right side of the vehicle, and jack the engine up as far as it will go. From there it leaves you just enough room to move it into a position to be removed. It can be done; I've done it a few times personally. I hope this helps you, and I wish you good luck with your repair.

1999 Chevy Blazer 4WD wont start

Sounds like the bendix is stuck in the starter. When this happens, the starter energizes and turns, but the gear does not kick out to make contact with the flywheel. Have someone tap on the starter while cranking the engine.
