Question about 2007 Lexus IS 250

Is IS250 bad on gas?

I just recently purchased a 2007 Lexus IS250 AWD, the MPG sounds great at first. But not until I start driving it for a week. Just this past friday night, I filled up the gas tank from empty to full, by Sunday night the tank went down to the middle. I probably only drove about 60miles max. How come the gas was so bad while the MPG review was great?

The car does have plenty of power. I do not see any black smoke coming out of tail pipe. I drive normal, about 50% hwy and 50% local. The MPG combined is 27 for this car.

Also, what is the air filter for?

how does the car drive? Does it have plenty of power? do you get black smoke out the tail pipe under accleration? Have you checked mileage by filling up then driving and filling up again?

According to Kelly Blue Book your gas milage is spot on. Be careful with K&N air filters, they are a performance part and they may affect any warrenty you might have. Plus I have seen them give Mass Airflow Sensors problems.

Try installing a K & N Air filter. Any good Parts store Carries them. Changed the HP and Milaeage on my 425 HP Chevrolet Truck. Added 35 to 45 HP and increased My Mileage to 23 Per Gallon!

It is a Direct Replacement for the Factory Filter that has Dramatic Increase in Air Flow Resulting in Gained HP and Mileage.

I have a 2006 is250 lexus push button start and it only starts, lights, nav everything works but it won't crank....takes 3-4 times before it cranks and it doesn't happen eve

The first thing you want to check for is the brake signal, without this signal it will not crank, this is the easy one make sure you get brake light, the second is to have the starter tested by a direct method, this gives the indication of the health of the starter

Where do I find the ETC PWR switch on a 2008 Lexus IS250 AWD?

On North American IS250 it is to the right of the steering wheel below the ignition button. There should be two switches ECT and TRAC side by side

2006 lexus Is250 or a 2007 benz c230?

In the Edmunds Mercedes Benz C Class is a group which gives you discussions of what are the pros and cons of a Mercedes. I would research this website to give you a better price comparison of a mercedes to a lexus. A classic problem with Mercedes is the electrical problems they have had through the years, and if you do not want to spend a lot on electrical problems I would wayered towards the lexus. Lexus however has an average of 130 defects per 100 cars and the interior of these cars can be somewhat small. Repair costs for lexus are kind of expensive too.

The Merceds c230 goes for rougly $30,000 dollars. It gets 29 mpg on the highway and 21 mpg city. It has 2.5 V6 with 201 horsepower. Driver and Passenger crash ratings wore rated both 4 out of 5 and that is not bad at all. It comes with a 6 speed transmission is a manumatic so you can either up or downshift for a better drive or leave it in automatic for city. There is also 17 inch wheels which are standard. It has dual climate air and heat and 10 way seat adjustments for a very comfortable ride for driver and passenger. The build quality is also exceptional.

The lexus averages for around 23,000 to 27,000 dollars so it is a few thousand short of the bmw. It also has a 2.5 litre V6 with 204 horsepower so a little bit more hp than the bmw but only by 3 hp. It has an electric start and also good crash ratings. The braking and accleration are also reported to be real well. There is no manual with the larger motors and the backseat does not fold however. City gas mileage is 20 to 24 mpg. The highway is 28 to 30 mpg. Consumer car ratings are very high 4 and 5's and that's out of a 5 point scale so this car got high reviews in all departments. The BMW was said to be underpowered in accleartion however. It got a JD power rating of 5 on the mechancial side and that is the best rating and JD is a renouned auto reviewer so this is really good. The keyless start of the lexus make take some getting use to.

In my opinion it a toss up between german engineering and a home based American dealership. I've always liked the styling of BMW and they are autobauhn tested suspensions make them very aggressive in driving through corners and a very fun car to drive. However, the BMW is priced more and is said to be underpowered. The Lexus is cheaper and has enough power for any consumer. My best bet for you would be the Lexus. I hope this fixes your dilema and always have fun with the car you purchase!

Thinking of buying

I have a 2007 IS 250 and I am completely in love with my car. The inside is very plush and the overall feel is of QUALITY. Lexus is high end and they live up to it in this car. The engine is buttery smooth and silent and has plenty of power. The paddle shift is cool on the freeways and hills and the looks I get in the car are great too. Unlike the Euro counterparts, which are also nice inside and fun to drive, the Lexus will stay running and cost you much less in repair cost and agitation. I have had Audi and BMW in the past and I can safely say that I will probably never drive anything other than Lexus from now on.
