2006 Jeep Wrangler heater fan only works on high speed. I have heard this is due to a resistor. Where is it located and is this a factory part only ?

It is located on the passenger side , usually behing the glove box. This part can be bought in the aftermarket like pep boys or autozone fairly cheap. real simple to replace. First locate it, unplug it, pull it out, replace with new one, plug it in, replace the glove box. Then you are done.

I had the same problem with my 06 wrangler x It is from the resistor going you can buy the replacement from carquest for 20 bucks any problem any other car store. This is a very easy change i found a step by step hot to just go to this url http://bvensko.blogspot.com/ all tho this is a different type of jeep it is the same thing one thing this guide did not say was to dissconnect your neggitive batterie cable. If you do not it could set the air bags off. This is a common problem with Jeeps after the change you should not have to replace it for a long time mine just went at 20,000 miles.

My 1998 Jeep Wrangler Heater Motor only has one speed High. Nothing on any of the lower ones, no matter on ac or heat. What could be the problem?

This is 100% the Blower (Fan) Motor Resistor located near the Blower Motor.
This is a very common problem with Chyrsler, Dodge, Jeep and Plymouth. The key symptom is the Fan only working on High.
This is very easy to access and replace.

Let me know if this helped....

I have a 2006 erangler X And the heater fan control low speed does't work. I dont know where the resisters are. Need help!

They are near the blower motor as the air is used to cool the resister, usually on the bottom of the blower housing.

2001 Jeep Wrangler heater blower stopped working

Yes I would go with the switch, BUT, does it have a resistor bank? That is, how does it reduce the speed? Many systems use resistors to lower the speed. Burnt or bad connections can cause this as well.
You can test the blower motor by connecting direct power from a source like the cigarette lighter if you are handy.
Most of the time the lower speeds konk out but the high speed continues to work this is the resistor bank that goes out.

I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler and the heater fan stopped working for all the fan speeds. The fuses are fine. How do you know if it is the blower resistor or the blower motor?

If you bypass the resistor pack and connect the motor directly to the fused 12v supply then the fan should run at maximum speed. If so, it's the resistor pack that's blown: a very common fault on a huge number of makes and models.

Ac/heater fan switch problem on a 2006 jeep commander

next to the fan motor there should be a connector that has three or four wires that attached to the blower resistor. it should have two screws holding it to heater case, just pull it out and replace.

Wrangler jeep heater/AC fan

Usually, when the fan works only on high speed the issue is with the blower motor resistor. It will be located under the dash close to the blower motor itself. It will have a multi-wire plug and feeds signal to the blower motor. An updated resistor maybe available in which case a slightly larger hole will have to be cut for the new resistor. This is not a difficult proceedure, only a couple of screws are holding the resistor in place and most resistors are resonably priced. I recommend you buy the resistor at the dealer, this is a case where you get what you pay for.
Good luck, hope this helps.
